Good layout but needs some upgrades and attention
The layout is good and the degree of difficulty is up there. It could be better kept all around but the bunkers have no sand. They are like hitting from the cart path.. super hard. They close the restaurant at 4pm which is way too early in the summer. No beverage cart!! They do have a good beer deal of 6 for 24 with a little cooler. The potential is there is they put some effort, attention and money into it.
Always a good time!
Montebello never lets me down, always a good time, pace of play was good!
Great day for golf
Great course. There was only one problem: The bunkers had so sand in them. They where very hard. That's it, everything else was good.

Great Value!
This course is beautiful for the price. Other courses in the area at the same price point are no where near as nice as this one. Keep it mind it’s not Torrey Pines but you also aren’t paying anything near the price lol.
Challenging from any tees the greens are decent size some elevated shots to them are required .fun course.
I enjoy playing it especially the par 5's 3 shots usually for me but straightforward holes .
Learn Service
Besides Alexandria and the guy selling beer, service was off. The Marshall was too busy lecturing people on where to park the cart versus managing pace of play. As a result balls were flying everywhere and waited on just about every hole.no one there after the round to provide my experience to.

I cannot complain about the course and for the price. I would do something about the bunkers ..
Absolutely value for money,
In my opinion, Montebello is one of the little gems in all of Los Angeles County. The staff is very professional and helpful, and the course is awfully well maintained. I recommend golfers, who haven't played this course, to think about playing there. They will NOT be disappointed.

Nice city course
I play Montebello several times a year and it is always in pretty good conditions. Nice fairways and greens, rough penalizes but is not too thick. Nice layout with three tees. When open there is a nice restaurant and bar area, but it is currently closed due to COVID. Great course for the value.

Only knock I would give the course were the bunkers..rock hard and unable to play in them..other than that super fun course...and definitely coming back
