Monterey Park Golf Course

If you paid for 2pm, tee off with 2pm people. In my case 3pm tee off turned into 3:25 tee time cause people werent teeing off with their time slot. So bad. Course is great but we need a marshall there or something.

I understand this is a municipal golf course and there are people learning that's not a problem, everyone starts somewhere but jeez. I played solo today 5/31/2025 and asked if I was playing with anybody because usually as a solo I get paired with randoms to speed up play which makes sense and I don't mind.

I went off by myself and had three people in front of me and caught up by the third hole, they let me play through which was cool. I played a few holes with nobody really in front of me then got to the sixth hole where i saw 9. YES 9 PEOPLE in a group. I hit my shot and it's just right of the green and don't really think anything of it. because I'm just out here playing 9 for fun. Until one of the people hooks it LOW right off their tee at seven and hits me with their golf ball in the back of the right thigh. The guy who hits comes over and apologizes which is fine, but no FORE, nobody in that group NINE PEOPLE said anything like a "Aggggh or WATCH OUT" nothing.

I've been hit with a ball before which happens in golf, but I was MAD because not only am I getting hit there's NINE people playing on the course.

I call the front desk and tell them that NINE people are playing together which the desk responds "Oh yeah they probably joined groups" ANNNNNND THAT'S OKAY!? Screw it, why don't I find 25 people and we go off together, that's chill by this place's logic right?. The front desk said he'll come over and tell them (like that's gonna do anything)

This course is cool, it's a fun par of 3 course with 2 par of 4's the course isn't the problem, the PEOPLE are the problem, yeah I probably got a bad group of douche's in front of me, but for the people in charge to say "yeah they probably combine groups" is INSANE. I've played a fivesome before because of tight groups but NINE PEOPLE IS INEXCUSABLE.

Once the dirt out the tee boxes it would be a perfect 9 hole. Way too many carpets and they aren’t maintenances. Tees box conditions are 2/10

The substantial hills makes this course challenging.

I know this course isn't the best with pace of play... but no one in the pro shop care... I went in at 7 20 to check in for 7 40 pm tee time. The guy that I checked in with said there was a little delay. Little delay was 3 group of 4 sum in front of me. I was there 20 mins early so I said whatevers... until the same guy came back and said there was another 4 sum in front of us. I ended up teeing off at 8 20 pm. 40 mins delay on par 3 course doesn't seem like a little delay. They should at least have a starter or someone to tell them what they need to do on the first hole so there isn't a huge delay as most people come here are beginner golfers. And lastly, the fence on the back end of the range was damaged from recent storm( few weeks ago) but there are people hitting drivers and other long hitters are hitting it pass the fence. Someone drover over 300 yards and almost hit us heading down to hole number 3. This is accident waiting to happen. They need to fix this before letting people play on the course. Someone will get hit and they are looking for a lawsuit.

Practice at the range, play the 9 hole topography challenge and then refuel with anything from the grill on location. The carnitas tacos are highly recommended as is a glow ball.

I usually don't play on Mondays but it was great as the pace of play was awesome. The course condition is also great.

Greens were pretty slow in the past but nowadays, they maintain the course so well that the greens are also fast and fun to play.

Just because it is a par-3 course, it is not as easy as one can think. The greens are pretty tough depending on the hole location each day.

My group had a blast playing here!

First time and I wasn't prepared for all the up and down. Beautiful course otherwise. Just be prepared to hoof it!!!

This is a great course for new players looking to play something bigger than a pitch and putt. While the course is not very big, it provides a lot of fun uphill and downhill holes which makes it very rewarding. The pace is pretty good. My twosome was able to get through 9 in about 2 hours and we didn’t jam up until hole 9.
