Challenging 9 Hole
The substantial hills makes this course challenging.
7 40 tee time
I know this course isn't the best with pace of play... but no one in the pro shop care... I went in at 7 20 to check in for 7 40 pm tee time. The guy that I checked in with said there was a little delay. Little delay was 3 group of 4 sum in front of me. I was there 20 mins early so I said whatevers... until the same guy came back and said there was another 4 sum in front of us. I ended up teeing off at 8 20 pm. 40 mins delay on par 3 course doesn't seem like a little delay. They should at least have a starter or someone to tell them what they need to do on the first hole so there isn't a huge delay as most people come here are beginner golfers. And lastly, the fence on the back end of the range was damaged from recent storm( few weeks ago) but there are people hitting drivers and other long hitters are hitting it pass the fence. Someone drover over 300 yards and almost hit us heading down to hole number 3. This is accident waiting to happen. They need to fix this before letting people play on the course. Someone will get hit and they are looking for a lawsuit.
Practice course gem
Practice at the range, play the 9 hole topography challenge and then refuel with anything from the grill on location. The carnitas tacos are highly recommended as is a glow ball.
Great condition, Very fast pace of play!
I usually don't play on Mondays but it was great as the pace of play was awesome. The course condition is also great.
Greens were pretty slow in the past but nowadays, they maintain the course so well that the greens are also fast and fun to play.
Just because it is a par-3 course, it is not as easy as one can think. The greens are pretty tough depending on the hole location each day.
My group had a blast playing here!
So many hills!!!!
First time and I wasn't prepared for all the up and down. Beautiful course otherwise. Just be prepared to hoof it!!!
Great course for new players
This is a great course for new players looking to play something bigger than a pitch and putt. While the course is not very big, it provides a lot of fun uphill and downhill holes which makes it very rewarding. The pace is pretty good. My twosome was able to get through 9 in about 2 hours and we didn’t jam up until hole 9.
Great place to play and practice!
The driving range is really nice. Very clean, good mats, balls are in good shape, and price is reasonable, $16 for 100 balls. They have an auto tee system on the range that is very convenient to use. Love not having to bend down to tee up a ball. The course layout is challenging, really enjoyed it. There are elevation changes, nice bunkering, fairways & greens are in excellent shape. The greens are a good size for the length of the hole, they are very fast, with some being multi-tiered with a lot of slope. Very fun and challenging to putt! Overall, the course is well maintained with lots of trees that lend to a higher end feel compared to most executive courses.
Don't pass up the snack bar! The food is great, no joke. The egg drop sandwich is delicious and the coffee is superb. The staff is friendly and accommodating.
The only thing I would encourage the staff to improve are the tee boxes. The current ones are not bad, but the ground surrounding the tee boxes is a bit beat up which detracts a bit from the overall great course conditions. Honestly, this course and its amenities is a great value. I encourage anyone to play here. We had a somewhat slow twosome in front of us but still finished in about an hour and a half. Will definitely play here more often.
Always fun to play at Monterey Park GC
I played here after almost a year and had a lot of fun. My buddy made a hole-in-one on the 6th hole.
Greens were always pretty slow but this time it was pretty fast so made the round little difficult. The pin placement on the last 3 holes were terrible and ended the round with a bitter taste but overall it was great time outside. One bad thing is that it took too long from the beginning. I found out that the 2 groups in front of us were at least 12-16 people (don't think all of them played simultaneously) buy surely it helped with the slowness.
9 Hole with Lights
Nice golf course that's challenging and rewarding.
Take your flashlight.
The overall course is good but you can easily loose a lot of golf balls so be aware especially playing at night.
