Whispering Lakes Golf Course

This would be a great golf course if the fairways were in better condition.

This place looks neglected. Greens were the best part and were pretty well maintained. Small greens (maybe 10 paces round), little break. Tee boxes were ok, have seen worse. But the worst part were the fairways. 90% was dead/need repairs. Tons of gopher holes, geese poo everywhere. Hard to tell where the rough and fairway met. Hit drives in the middle of the fairway only to have it stop rolling because it hit a gopher mound. Ooh.. and the carts.. the second you hit the rough is slows it down to a snails pace, needs some preprogramming. Spend a few more bucks and go to El Prado, Mountain Meadows, Los Serranos, Goose Creek… skip this one.

This place used to be a favorite of mine and my friends. In the last 5 months they have stopped watering the fairways and outlying areas. The only thing that's maintained are the greens, the rest is dirt, gophers holes, and weeds. Such a shame. After new management took over a couple of years ago things were looking up for this place. But now it looks like they are running it into the ground. Property details show it is owned by the City of Ontario. With the new stadium going in across the street it sure looks like the city will end up demolishing this area and bring in new restaraunts, etc to attract business.

For years, the administration has promised that they are improving the course and putting money into it. Seems like the only place they care about is the range/bar area. It's all brand new with covered areas.

The actual course is just really sad. The greens are decent, but everything else is pretty much dirt and weeds. The normal rate is very high compared to other courses in the area that are in much better shape. The staff was really friendly. We got a killer deal with a Hot Deal & an additional discount, so it was worth it.

I would NEVER pay full price here.

Course is in absolute terrible condition. Not worth the money. $41 for the round and every hole looks like an alleyway, nothing but dirt and weeds.

The person at the bar needed help. It was really slow and slowed down the start of back 9

Fairway is all jacked up. Too many gofer holes. Course is dry and little grass . Is all dirt

Greens are good but too fast.

I was pleasantly surprised that the greens were actually in great shape opposed to the last time I played here a couple of months ago, however the fairways could use a bit more watering. I ended up losing a ball that I hit just off of the fairway because my ball blended in with the grass. A couple of the fairways had patches of thick grass that looks like the mower missed. The closer you hit to the greens the better the greener the grass, further away the grass was patchy and dead

Fairways dirt “goat patch” needs to be addressed. Tee box need serious work. All tee boxes were uneven and patchy grass. They need to be flattened and grass selection is questionable. Crabgrass is not preferred for tee boxes as it grabs !!

The free sleeve and little lunch before hole 10 was great. Holes were a little confusing because I believe they were updating some holes. Aside from all of that, had a great day playing some golf for a solid price.

You can think there is no fairway in this course. Some fairway is long grass like rough. some fairway looks like bunker (really sandy like bunker). It was my first time at this course, and last time at this course.

The course layout is fine. The driving range and the carts are very good. Staff is friendly. But the condition of the course is terrible. bumpy EVERYWHERE, even in the fairway. The greens needed to be cut and rolled. The bunkers could all use new sand.

Not sure where to start. Online it says you receive a hotdog and a sleeve of balls but that was never honored when we checked in to pay. Then we go play on what I can only describe as the roughest golf course I’ve ever been on. Even the cart path was nothing pot holes. I thought I was going to get thrown out of the cart even driving down the fairways. Then you have the lack of signage for direction or hole numbers so you have golfers just driving around list looking for an open hole to play. It’s definitely not worth the time, money, or effort to have anything to do with this course. Extremely disappointing afternoon.

Awesome value and challenging course has been improving considerably keep up the good work

The range was nice new and improved didn’t get a chance to have a drink at the bar but looked. Ice as far as the course itself terrible fairways greens were all and not in the best shape I don’t think it’s worth$55 to play
