Great bang for your buck
Great track. Its never going to be pristine but it was in good shape.
played in the rain
I went out during a fairly rainy and very windy day - (18-25mph) expecting the rain to dissipate within an hour, which of course, it didn't. Maybe 2 holes.
I saw only one other player on the course, so either I'm a genius or on the other end of the spectrum!
Driving was the hardest part. A good half of the holes are into the wind or 90 degrees to it. And I had 3 layers on which made it tough to get a decent swing.
To be honest, I had a lot of fun. I was able to go right at the pin with approach shots and short chips, of which I had a lot. My short game was 9 out of 10 - which ket my score decent considering the conditions. The greens were much easier to play on being so wet and slow - whereas under normal conditions, the greens play extremely fast - something I am finding on the majority of Northern California public course - this is something I find highly frustrating - there's no reward for decent shots - not how public muni courses should be set up in my opinion. The course was in very good condition all in all - much better than earlier in the year - when I last played. And the course was littered with hundreds of golf balls - which after a few holes I realized had been shaken out of the cypress trees due to the 2-3 days of super high winds. I'd say there were an average of 15 balls per hole at least. Admittedly I picked up a few - but left the majority. Honestly, I'd play this course again in these conditions, perhaps a little less windy... Maybe wear a thinner 3rd layer so as to free up my swing a little. It's a great value for a lush green picturesque public course.
Maintanance!!
It could very beautiful course and better when
It maintained better! It was overall satisfying
Round! I’d play again and would recommend
The course!
Sharp park golf course
Have been playing for many years, mostly when I am on vacation in CA .
The course layout is interesting,
Fairways could be better, greens are tough.
Expensive for county courses.
Maybe We in NJ are spoiled. In Mercer county we have 5 courses to play for our enjoyment.
Sid & Maya
Nice course to walk or ride , hole 4,5,6,7 are quite uphill terrain, will get you tired & hit some shots will make score up. Coming out of tunnel hole 8 onwards pretty good , some challenging.
Two holes 16 & 17 along the Pacifica Beach are enjoyable, so also all the Par 3 s.
We have been playing Sharp Park for the last 3 years. It’s well maintained & could be tough for. Seniors like us.
Sharp Park
I grew up playing this course, I will never get tired of the closing 3 holes at sunset time, a true links style course experience at an amazing value!
Getting better!
Been a big fan of the layout here forever...the fairways and greens were in as good a shape as I've seen them with all the challenges they've had with 2 back to back rainy winters. Super enjoyable pace as it was unusually empty this day!
Always Great
This is my home course and we try to play a TV least once if not twice a week!
The fallen trees are being cut back as well as the brush and the cart paths are being repaired.
Getting better all the time!
Possibilities are great, greens are not
Despite having been fairly recently aerated, the greens have many dying spots and unhealthy spots to the point that it is really not possible to putt in a serious way on 5 or 6 of the greens.
Played in July and thought the greens were nice.
So hopefully once aeration cycle is complete the greens will regain smooth character and dead spots will not be noticeable.
