Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.

The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.

Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.

A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

Great course for the price

Front 9 is tree lined and fairly tight in some areas. Back 9 opens up to a more traditional links style course. The views on the back 9 are worth the price of the round and the layout is challenging. Will play again

Fun Weekend

Place of play was slow but expected on a Sunday afternoon. The course still has a lot of water damage from the recent storms. We had a great sunny day and enjoyed ourselves.

Poor Man’s Pebble

Still sloppy from all the rain, but starting to recover. As noted, front nine is pretty non descript, but back nine is worth the price of admission with gorgeous views and interesting holes. Fairways decent considering all the rain, greens very grainy and hard to read. Main issue was one group with some young kids was holding up the entire golf course, and no rangers in site. Waiting on every shot. Please send out a ranger from time to time! Really destroyed what should have been an enjoyable day.

Spectacular views on most of the back 9 holes. Front nine can be challenging with the afternoon wind.

Really Fun, Scenic Course

The front nine wanders through trees and houses, nothing special. But the entire back nine is an absolute stunner. The holes are challenging but playable, the views are spectacular, and the sounds of the ocean are inspiring. Worth every dollar.

Back 9 is breathtaking!

Front 9 looks like a typical municipal, short, narrow, nothing special. However, after 11th hole, the course winds through a peninsular and every hole has pacific ocean view! Well worth the money just for the back 9.
