The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

I've been playing Bayonet/Blackhorse in October almost each year for last several years. Beautiful weather every time. The couse condition is always good but this time around was phenomenal. The greens are always very firm and this was no exception, a bit over the top this time around so be prepared for even uphill puts to race by the cup. Still a beautiful place to play for the money, especially these days.

5 hour 45 minute round, Nothing more needs to be said.

Played at a Twilight rate and was able to finish at dark. This coarse was challenging but fair. Was able to play at our own pace since we had no one pressing us from behind. Weather was pretty good but a bit windy late in the afternoon. Will definitely play this coarse again when I go back to Monterey. Well worth the $75 after 3pm rate we got. Fairways and greens were in great shape. A number of differnt tee options so you can choose your challenge.

Bayonet is very well maintained and beautiful. The tee boxes are perfect, the fairways are great, and the greens are challenging but great. The course is challenging with plenty of bunkers and slopes, but overall it is an amazing course to play. Highly recommend!!

Bayonet was in excellent condition overall, except for the rough, which was taller than usual. However, the greens and fairways were pristine.

Unfortunately, our round was slowed down by two groups of beginners in front of us. We had to wait for every single hole. The Marshall tried his best to speed up the pace of play, but there was only so much he could do. We just got unlucky. And the group behind us became impatient and accidentally hit into us once. We informed them about the situation, and they stopped doing it.

First time playing this course and was pleasantly surprised at how nice the course really was — long and hilly with breathtaking views of the ocean. Pace of play was a bit slow but bearable. Will surely return next time when I’m in th area.

I play this course often and each time it offers different challenges to bring out the best in you to try and complete the holes., love this course.!

Played at 12pm on a cloudy Monday and loved every bit of it. Greens aren't super tough but tight fairways and nasty rough make the course challenging,
