The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

Not often you can have the perfect weather day with perfect conditions. No clouds, light breeze, fast greens , well manicured fairways. Awesome today.

Both courses are beautifully laid out and in great shape. The location is everything you would expect from Monterey County; fantastic ocean views, mature trees and a serene setting.

This is one of my most favorite courses in all of Northern or Southern California. It’s absolutely one of the most peaceful courses that you could play. The price is right staff as well trained, and is absolutely a joy to play

Great day for golf, weather was fantastic and the course was in great shape!! Pace of play was very slow on the back 9. Walking foursome was not keeping pace with group in front of them. They were two groups in front of me. Definitely affected my game and concentration.

Great course. Staff was great, had some interesting golfers ahead of us that made it slower than it should have been. That happens sometimes.

Bayonet we found tough and competitive

It’s via around its layout simply stunning.

The greens were uncut and they were stiff healing

From aeration, Putting was very painful.

There should have been modest discount?

This course is a premium venue but not on this day.

Although I have a very nice golf course 4 miles from my house, I do not mind driving 30 minutes to come to this course. Everyone is super friendly, the course is in great shape and the views are spectacular.

The course layout is challenging but fun.

I recommend this course.

I would have given it higher ratings but the greens were aerated two weeks ago and were very sandy and bumpy. Pace of play was fantastic and staff superb as usual.

I thought the fairways were lacking as though they were recently worked on. It seems like they need to be watered better instead of looking like they were insufficiently watered.

This was my first time playing on Bayonet, I’m so glad that I got to experience this course. Im definitely coming back! Some of the best fairways I’ve ever played on. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to play here.

Bayonet Blackhorse rocks!

After playing Blackhorse and enjoying a few months back I decided to try out bayonet. Tee sheet was wide open on a weekday. Arrived to the course checked in asked staff if there’s any cart path restrictions or anything to look out for. Nothing. I hit the range to warm up and the entire surface is sloped ball below your feet on old mats. Nice chipping and putting area. Started my round solo only to find that the tee boxes and greens were just sanded. No mention of this anywhere online or in person. Continued my round finished ahead of pace. Majority of the bunkers were not raked. Imo there’s way better options and course conditions in the area.

I've been playing Bayonet/Blackhorse in October almost each year for last several years. Beautiful weather every time. The couse condition is always good but this time around was phenomenal. The greens are always very firm and this was no exception, a bit over the top this time around so be prepared for even uphill puts to race by the cup. Still a beautiful place to play for the money, especially these days.

5 hour 45 minute round, Nothing more needs to be said.
