The Vineyard at Escondido

This course has a nice layout, but the conditions are poor. Many areas with just dirt and no grass. Also had one green that was about 50% burnt out.

Aside from the 5th green, it was good. They are reshaping the 6th to make it more strategic and putting algaecide in the ponds (lost balls should be visible soon).

It was breezy but good. Took about 4.5 hrs (maybe less)

I last played The Vineyard about 25 years ago, so I didn't remember much about the course. I found it to be a good challenge with accuracy off the tee pretty important. Although it isn't too narrow, you can get into tree trouble or OB if you lose a ball right or left. From the blues, it wasn't real long for me. I'm 59 and average around 240 on my drives. A couple holes had longer shots in due to wind or uphill drives that didn't carry long enough. The greens were a bit slow and approaches stuck and didn't roll out much. The course was in good shape with a few brown patches in some fairways. The views are great. All in all, I would recommend the course. For $91 it was a reasonable good value compared to other courses around San Diego.

Always fun playing a round at Vineyard. Good company and great for the price. I will go again.

Been golfing here for years must not be doing well now they don’t let singles ride carts without sharing such a joke last time golfing here good job vineyard smh

The course was generally in good condition, although the greens are very slow and it’s hard to get used to the speed you have to smash the putts.

Mix a challenge course with great views and it’s fun in the CA sun.

Good course , not worth 100 dollars but it’s the only place I could find a time on fathers day

Overall, the course was in pretty bad condition. Lots of unplayable lies with bare spots in the fariways. The sand traps were basically just dirt. Tee boxes OK. Greens OK. For $91, our group will look elsewhere for a better value for our golfing dollars.

Had a good time playing. The bunker(s) need some serious work, hard pan type and not enough sand . seems like they are not maintained . Other than that, the rest of the course is in good condition. Will play it again.

Positives: no houses in play, some interesting holes, great price with the hot deal+GN points+monthly credit. Laid back local playing partners.

Negatives: greens were as shaggy as I’ve ever played. Patchy in places, long everywhere, inconsistent speed.

Overall, better than not golfing! But we won’t recommend it to friends traveling to the SD metro.

Good value, good scenery on the back nine, bad greens. They're really bumpy right now; need to be rolled. I'm sure they're doing their best to keep everything as good as it's gonna get, and I don't think this course will ever hold firm, fast greens. TONS of ball marks due to the spongy soft conditions. The fairways, rough and collars are lush though. The strong afternoon winds at twilight and sun in your face on the back nine finish make it a awesome challenge and worth keeping it in the rotation. The range has free Trackman monitors and good balls & mats. The snackbar has good local taps and quick grab & go dogs, chips, burgers or post round meal options. Only restroom at clubhouse and I think a portapotty on 15 tee.
