Lake Spivey Golf Club

Not sure why there was no water on the course at all to drink and no bathrooms open. The course could use sprinklers on the fairway and tee boxes. Greens were in decent shape.

The greens are in great shape couple of fairways were soft from rain looking forward to playing again.

played for the first time and really enjoyed it. Challenging layout. Conditions were great.

I had a great time the coarse is very challenging on some holes and forgiving on others. Overall it is a great coarse to play

Very busy, unfortunately alot of beginning players who don't know gulf etiquette; fixing divots, pace of play etc....otherwise beautiful layout with greens in pretty good condition...especially for the price

I enjoyed this course A few of the tee boxes weren’t in great condition, and occasionally the carts give you a weird cart path warning (but you get 10 seconds of full speed before it goes reverse only) but other than that it was a fun challenging course and very fairly priced. I’d go again or recommend to a friend.

My game doesn’t warrant paying a larger sum of money for a top shelf course. My game is decent enough to appreciate a challenge and Lake Spivey offers this challenge. It’s kept up well and it’s not overcrowded. I’ll continue to play there.

It’s a nice course with a nice location but they were serious fairway issues with regards to the thin grass. There were also drainage issues on some holes. It doesn’t appear that they have fairway sprinkler systems which could be the problem. The greens were nice. The tee boxes were not.

Staff was great and they have done a fantastic job shaping up the course.

Almost a 5 hour round for a Sunday 8am tee-time. This place desperately needs grass , almost all tee boxes were dirt/sand with very little grass. The layout is decent and fair but not overly complex. The greens were in good shape but the pace of play and lack of grass will keep me and my mates away from Lake Spivey.

The clubhouse people were great. My first time playing the course and they answered all my questions. The starter explained which holes were cart path only & where to avoid a few areas. The course has a lot of tight lies right now and a few tee boxes were lacking. The greens are recovering nicely from the aeration 2 weeks ago. Overall pleasant experience.

As a beginner golfer and my second time playing here, it was a decent pace of play for a Monday morning. Overall the course was average and would play here again.

The course layout is nice but conditions were so-so. Greens were aerated which I wouldn’t hold against them, but the amount of sand they used was borderline ridiculous. The pace of play was pathetic. Took almost 3 hours to play the front 9 with no sign of improvement. I don’t think I’ll be back.

First time playing the course. Not in great shape, some super wet areas, some super dry and dead areas all on the same hole as well as virtually all the greens. The course isn’t set up very friendly for the golfer shooting in the high-80s to low 90s. Holes 1 and 10 are hard doglegs where you can’t hit more than 200yd off the tee and on 10 you’ve got 275 after the dogleg. 15 has A trap across the middle of the fairway at 200 yards so don’t mess up your tee shot. There were also 4 blind tee shots Where you can’t see the landing area.

To be fair, this was my first time playing here, but I doubt I’ll go back. .

I always like playing Lake Spivey. This time out was tougher than normal because of recent rain. I felt the pin placements were borderline unfair as every pin was on a hill or on a downslope. Other than that the course is in wonderful shape and a great value to play.

This is another public course that is suffering from lack of funds. I think they are doing their best with their limited budget to maintain the course. However, there are a lot of shortcomings:

- Tee boxes are not well maintained. Hard to sometimes find a level spot tee it up.

- The water coolers were misssing.

- A lot of bare areas that should be longer grass/rough.

- Poor drainage in a couple areas -- especially the 10th hole where I had to leave my ball in the middle of the fairway for fear of sinking up to my knee in mud (to be fair, we've had a lot of rain the last few weeks but the rest of the course was pretty dry).

Positives:

- Greens were in pretty good condition.

- Interesting layout.
