Nice Course !
This course is looking Good ! I used to play it years ago,,, many improvements have been made since then.
112 degrees and the course looked great
Green and lush fairways in the dog days of summer.
Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. The greens have always been good, but in the past the fairways have been a little brown due to the drought conditions. Not anymore. The fairways are lush and green now. Love this course.
Love links
Not ready for prime time yet, but that makes this fun links course a bargain NOT to miss.
Links Paso Robles
The course was advertised on TV it looked really good got there wasn't the same looking course also the rack rate was cheaper than GolfNow that's what really upset me!
Very good for the novice
This course has been upgraded. Fairways are in much better shape and the greens are in great shape . not much elevation changes, but fairways are well maintained but thin so you get a lot of roll. Not any bad rough to worry about.very difficult to loose a ball.
Fun course
Played 18 at this course on a windy day. Fun links style course that had some deep bogs to avoid, but wide fairways. A ball hit outside the fairway would roll forever on the hard ground with unpredictable bounces, which in some cases took a lot of yardage off a hole. Course conditions were fine, the greens ran true. The practice green was a solid representation of the real greens. Some of the fairways were a bit dry and at times tough to play off of, but those areas were few and far between. They are building a new pro shop so looking forward to coming back when that is done. The breakfast burrito was a perfect turn snack. Good value for the price.
The Links CC
Fun but not overly attractive or difficult. Fast pace of play, few extras. I'll return
Love this course
My buddy's and I always play a course in between both our homes( LA and SF). The city of Paso Robles has been our destination these last 2 times. We decided let's try the Links this time. And man that was an awesome decision. This course is when I say wide open I mean wide open. Even if you hit a bad it still most likely in play. Very forgiving!! Also a Nice practice facility. We definitely going back.
Average course, but they are working on it.
If you can get a discounted price , its worth every penny. If you pay full price, you could expect a little more. Great course for beginners, no trees or water hazards to work around. Course is pretty flat with a couple of exceptions. Course is surrounded by grape vineyards, so if you hit your ball in there it gone. I really liked the course and will back soon.
Average at best
First I'll start with the basics of this course. Track is flat with no trees between the fairways. In fact it's mostly dirt between them. Sand traps have had all sand and dirt removed so they are just grass bunkers. Cart path is dirt and/or gravel so it gets dusty out there in the summer heat and wind. Carts are gas powered. There was no water stations out on the course (high 80's -low 90's when I played).
Club house/pro shop is just a small trailer. They have a cooler with drinks (water, Gatorade, beer, etc) and a hotdog machine. That's the extent of the clubhouse/pro shop.
I did see some gloves and balls on the counter for sale incase you forget the necessities
Range is full grass and had the best hitting surface of the day. Having said that. Some of the range balls were so old the paint had peeled off and they were cracking. About 1/3 of the bucket consisted of balls in this shape.
The Gentleman at the check in counter was nice and friendly. There were very few people on the course when I played (maybe 5-10) so pace was super fast as a single.
The greens had been aerated a couple of weeks ago so I won't go into much detail about them other than they are flat.
Now that I've covered the basics, I'll get into the course itself.
With no water hazards, trees, or sand traps, it's a very scoreable course. The opening 9 has three par 5's and three Par 3's which is interesting. Two of the par 3's were long playing around 200 yards. In fact one was 225 from the whites. To add difficulty, it also had the smallest green out on the course.
The back 9 was fairly standard with the second par 5 being fairly short and reachable in 2 without too much effort.
Tee boxes were in pretty bad shape all around. The fairways were decent and the strong point of the course even though they were only average in quality.
Rack rate is $46/$57 (weekday/weekend). For that price the course is definitely not even close to worth it. I found a Golfnow deal for under $15 with cart and for that price I have no problem playing a quick midweek round here again.
If you are in the area and can only play one course in the Paso Robles area, do yourself a favor and play Hunter Ranch or Paso Robles Golf Course. Both are 5 minutes away and are way superior in quality. PRGC is also about the same price as the Links Course of Paso Robles so that's a no brainer.
THIS IS A PURE LINKS COURSE IN GOOD SHAPE WITH EXCELLENT GREENS AND STAFF..NEW OWNER IS IN A COMPLETE REMODEL PROGRAM FOR COURSE AND AMENITIES..IN A COUPLE OF YEARS OR SO WILL BE A DESTINATION
Great Links course
If you like a link style course this one should fill your need. Over the past couple of years they have put a lot of money into the course, they have changed a few holes and removed all the bushes that were everywhere. The addition of the vineyards is a nice touch. There is a plan to add a RV park along with some other structures currently at the city counsel up for discussion. The club house is an old modular and there is no kitchen for food. This is a great course to stretch out your driver and the greens are in spectacular condition. This is my favorite course in the north county to play. If you want some crazy wind to play in make your tee time for the afternoon.
My Thoughts
The greens are very good but I wish the plants off the fairway had not been removed. The maintenance of the course off the fairways is an issue.
Beautiful Links Course
I wish I lived closer to this course! I visit the area a couple of times a year, and always make time to play. The Links at Paso Robles is such a fun course, especially on windy days. It features a classic layout; blind shots, sharp doglegs, and formidable grass bunkers. The greens are immaculate! Every roll is true. And when the wind kicks up, club selection adds to the enjoyment of the game. Because of the course routing, you will face headwinds, tailwinds, crosswinds, and everything in between. The Links at Paso Robles is truly a unique golfing experience!
Good Value
The greens and range were in great shape. The fairways and a few if the pot bunkers were rough in spots. Wide open layout so not really any trouble to speak of on the course. I spoke with the owner and he has nice improvements planned. A new clubhouse and pro shop are close to opening. He also has planned a resort style RV park that he expects to open in a year and a half or so. I will play the course again and can't wait to see the improvements the owner says are coming!
