Links @ Paso robles
We played the Links at Paso Robles on October 11, 2016. The staff here were extremely helpful and accommodating. The course is in great shape, the best the course has been in it's existence. Plans for future development are exciting.
The course has few challenges. It is open, with wide fairways and huge, fast greens. However, it is long, especially for seniors who have begun to lose distance.
Overall, the Links is a great playing experience.
The Links in Paso Robles
The staff was friendly. The course is not too difficult, an average golfer will have an enjoyable round. The vineyards give the course a unique surrounding i enjoyed. A very good value.
A true links course!
Always fun to play! Challenging, lots of roll on the ball
Getting better
Starting to get greener out there. Greens at 14 and 15 need to be replaced, but everything else is in good shape. Owner says RV par and bar/grill are coming soon.
Update
All of the greens and green complexes are in very good condition. Greens are on the slow side but running smooth and receptive to approaches. The fairways have thin firm conditions with bare areas in many spots. The "rough" is bare dirt/weeds that for the most part has been completely cleared. The tee boxes range from fair to quite poor as many have very little grass and a few had basically none.
The wind was blowing extreme the day we played so the wide open nature of the course made it enjoyable and reminded me of why this is touted as a "links" (yes I know links are the strip of land between sea and terra firma).
CLEANED UP AND READY TO PLAY
This course has been cleaned up ALL of the brush. I have played this course many times , in the past, and this course was plagued by slow play because of lost balls in the bramble, but now , there is nothing but green fairways ! It was a pleasure to play this course. A vineyard now takes away the short cuts, so it takes good shotmaking skills, but generous fairways ! GREAT JOB in the renovation ! A+ GREAT GREENS !
Best Value in Paso Robles
I play this course whenever I get to the Central Coast. The course is always in great shape. The pro shop could be better, but you don't play the pro shop. I will take this course over Hunter Ranch, and it's 1/3 the price.
Great value
Great value. Greens always in good condition and fairways much improved.
I will be playing hear more often Opened areas with grape vines nice setting.
A forgiving course
Everything is very open, no trees, water or sand.
Easy to play shots that would normally be out of bounds on other courses. A little too dry and hard, ball would run a lot more than normal.
Nice For the Price
Good value, fair straight forward course.
Fun and Interesting
Even though there are not a lot of hazards, the course can challenge you if you leave the fairway. A lot of dog legs. Greens are very nice. If bump and running to greens, must land well short and let ball roll. Fairways are in very good shape. Staff very friendly.
Excellent round of golf
Check in guy (Tom) was very nice. Course and greens in very good shape. Great value for your money.
Golf at the Liks
Great price, beautiful views, good course condition.
Up and coming course
It is a course that will challenge you, and is improving is a great day of golf. It is my pick for the Paso area.
Excellent greens
The greens were rolling very nicely and very fair. The course was in good condition considering the drought, but I would like to see more sand in the traps.
Great affordable golf
The courses in great shape grass on the ground Greens roll true they've done a lot of great work here took out all the trees putting in vineyards this place is on the up and up highly recommended legit links style golf
Good bang for the buck
Kind of a work in progress. they course plays well. When the Vinyard matures it will be a tougher track.not much to offer in the food department, but they do have beverages. but I would play it again.
Easy Course Hot Hot Sun
Flat and easy course. Long holes make up for lack of obstacles. Straight and flat with no threatening bunkers, turns, trees, or water. Good if you want to knock some points off your average.
True Links Course!
Was passing through the area while on a Camping trip, and used GolfNow to find this bargain. Friendly staff was very accommodating to get me out! The wind blew some; which is to be expected with the wide open links design. Some of the fairways are surrounded by luscious green vineyards. I had great time! Thanks!
