Pico Rivera GC
I have played this course several times over the past year and it appears that the new management has been trying to bring up the conditions of the course. They have been adding more sand along the greens along with a nice frindge around the greens. This small muni course is worth the very small green fee. When you actually can see a cut fairway separating the rough, to me that's not bad at all. My only complaint is that most of the time players don't take the time to repair their divots in the greens.
If you like playing a long round this is the place
I liked the course and the conditions were good but
following a group of 7 isn't my cup of tea. Play was
super slow.......3 hrs for a 9 hole round?
Great Value
I usually play this course early in morning on the weekends. Most holes fall within the 100-140 range, so it is good scoring practice for regular courses. Tee boxes consist of mats, but people tend to tee off on the grass areas. The greens are a little bumpy (like others have mentioned), but for the price you pay, it's expected. In addition to the greens fee, you also get a small bucket of balls to warm up with. You can't beat the price!
Their practice facilities are ok. The range uses pretty beat up balls. They have one practice bunker and two greens to practice chipping and putting.
Nice Place
Nice place to work the rust off your game. Good practice facility, and a nice variety of hole lengths to use a few different clubs over the 9 hole layout. Greens are usually in good shape. Good for beginners.
Cheap Course
I've played Pico plenty of times when I'm looking to practice my short game. There is no difference between fairway and second cut here. Also the greens are very, very slow with hundreds of divots. The people managing the course try to get you to hit off of mats which is annoying to me. Also the dress code isn't enforced so you will see plenty of people playing in Raider jerseys.
Great Family Day
Took the family out for day of golfing. It was great price, staff was friendly. We all had fun. Ill do it again.
Always a great experience!
Always happy to play here and work on the short game. Everyone is extremely friendly my only complaint if any is the range closed the morning on Wednesday's. Other than that, the staff is outstanding and the facilities are in fair condition.
This course is a great value
Great course to play at if you are just starting out. They also have night golf.
Challenging course
I always enjoy playing Pico...puts your putting and short game in check... Staff decided to place bunkers at several holes. It would be great if players would fix divods on putting greens and leave the sunflower seeds in their bag and not all over the putting surface...Take pride in our courses.
xlnt staff and fun little course
played this course several times. staff is always nice and friendly! players and atmosphere also friendly. range ball are pretty worn out, but lots of targets to shoot for, BUT they need to display distances for each target! course is in good shape. slow play if beginners in front, might take 1.5-2 hours to play this short course if crowded. it's still an xlnt value!!!
Nice day !
Clean quick and clear.
2 holes where you get to use a driver!
Work on my long game
I really like this particular course, because I get to work on my long game while playing 9 holes. I can play the course relatively quickly without fast players behind me. Overall, I love the course.
Par 3 fun!
Other then the guy playing rap music out of his phone behind us,it was a cool round. Two par 4's are really short.I just started playing again after a 15 year gap so still not ready for full golf course yet.Course was clean and well maintained.Greens were ok.Thought of going around again but there were several groups of four ahead so we went to Norwalk where it was quiet.Perfect for night round.
Challenging
Nice 9 hole, good challenging greens, new sand traps .
Great Day
This course has improved over the years. The green are great and the fairways are in good conditions. This course is perfect to work and improve your short game, especially to hit your wedge shots.
improve tee off condition
very nice golf course for intermediate players.
if the tee off area can be improved will be better.
best course ever!
Bring your buds and have a ball.. pico riv is $$$...
Good course to practice you short game
The only drawback to this course is that you have to use mats. Otherwise it is well maintained, greens were good & the putting speed was nice.
A Real Feel-Good Place for Golf
This little place is an excellent facility for any beginning golfer. I decided to play here because of the great "hot deal" from GolfNow.com. The experience was well worth the 45-minute drive from my home to the course.
The staff was very welcoming and friendly. This place has a nice driving range and the short course is great for someone who wants to improve their short game. The two par 4 holes can serve as a good test of your fairway wood / hybrid. The rest of the holes will test your short irons (6-PW). I chose to hit off the mats, without a tee and had a really nice round.
This place is just great for kids with a paid lesson program that includes practice range balls and course play.
When we were done playing, we liked the place so much that we decided to patronize the pub & grill. To our delight, the street tacos were superb and we ordered a second helping!
I'm ready to drive for 45-minutes again for a few more rounds with friends.
Great course to work on your short game, irons, and show off your drives
Pico Rivera is a Par 29 golf course. It has two short par 4s. This is no putt-putt course, however. This course has traditional, hardy, lush municipal course grass. That means, if you hit a chip fat, your clubhead will stop. So, this course is outstanding for working on your short game. You won't be chipping or pitching to within 3 feet easily. You will be rewarded if you land on the green because the greens are medium speed and the breaks are readable. If you don't land on the green, you will have to really work for par. The two Par 4s can be driven by Bubba Watson-type players, but that is a mistake. Because of the chewy municipal course grass, it is far better to be hitting a full Pitching or Sand Wedge into the green than chipping.
