Desert Island Country Club

No on course services…no drink carts, no snack shack, no rangers, etc.

Fairways were in average shape and traps were barely filled with hard sand. Not worth the price.

Desert Island has been around since the early 1970's. It is a well designed layout that offers challenges to both good and not so good golfers. It ranks very high as one of the better layouts of the Desert. It is a total shame that the new owner(s) are going to turn it into a condo and entertainment centre.

Course in good shape, greens were slow and soft

No marshal to keep the pace up

No cart girl

First time playing, course was great and in amazing condition. The pin placements were a little tough which I head some people complain about but all in all I would absolutely play again!

A pretty nice course. Well maintained, couple of odd holes. Facility is a dated private course so the building is functional but tired. Biggest complaint; carts did not have GPS (and distance markets were in short supply).

This course was in great shape, and had tea boxes for every level of difficulty. Simply beautiful.

we were in Palm Desert for 8 days- there were never any tee times available between 8am and 1:30 pm. the prices have more than doubled in the last two years-- good for you guys-- but reserving all the tee times for residents and members only will come back to bite you in the rear-- I know our trip next year will not be to the Cochella Valley..

Course is in excellent condition. Only issue was the slow pace on the back nine. Otherwise, a fun and beautiful course for all levels.

The course is narrow and a on the short side with undulating greens, it was in good condition and the service was excellent and friendly.

Don’t understand why this course requires carts to come in a whole hour before sunset! Greens were sanded and rough, some holes very quirky!

Well worth it for under $100. Not worth it for over $100.

The course was in great condition. The layout was nice and while there were a few tough holes it was very playable. The pace of play was decent and our foursome came in under 4 hours. The back nine slowed us down as people stopped for snacks and drinks. Their restaurant was art deco but vey tastefully done. The menu was eclectic and a bit expensive but we even came back again just to eat. Their ninth hole bar was very nice. We played this toward the end of our trip otherwise we would have played it again.

Very nice course. I wish I had known that Desert Island Golf is now known as The S at Rancho Mirage. It would have made it easier to find the course on my Watch via GokfShot App for scoring and distances.
