Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - South/West

Greens were consistent and rolled nicely. Surrounded by houses, but we didn’t hit any. Landing areas are generous. Course is shorter, but driver is often taken out of your hands because of strategic water hazards.

One of the three nine hole courses was still closed from the flooding this winter. The maintenance staff have done a good job rebuilding the holes that were affected on the other courses. Pace of play was slow for such a basic course however it was overall quite enjoyable. The course plays through a lovely subdivision with very nice tidy homes. The greens were in great shape.

I was told at check in that the tee times were running 15 minutes behind. We actually teed off 45 minutes after the original tee time. The pace of play on the front was slow and when we made the turn, there were two groups on the tee waiting. We went back to number 1 and played it again, finishing just before dark. The course recently had some damage from the rain in January and the West nine wasn't open which might have contributed to the slow play; The staff was super friendly, even in the chaos of getting people in carts and off of the first tee.

They were 30 minutes behind when we showed up. Was told by the cart guy, not the club house. Cart died on us at 9. Told 5 hours to play 18. There was some water damage from a couple months ago. Pace of play was so slow.

Front nine and hitting up and down washes on a number of consecutive holes wasn’t so great. Otherwise, nice course.

Inconsistent green speeds, a couple greens hadn’t seen a mower in weeks if not longer. Unhealthy grass, could use an agronomist. Bunkers weren’t even sand, just powdery dirt taken from the wash full of rocks

Was not told certain holes were closed and front nine had construction on most holes.was so slow we skipped back nine(has three nine hole courses)) and played the 4-9 on as 1-3 was closed.We enjoyed it much better even though we missed three holes.Staff is awesome but they have work to do.Green are slow but good shape.They did give us discount so felt doing best they could with what they have.
