Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - South/West
About
Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa offers 27 holes of championship golf. Divided into three nines: North, South, and West, the courses are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The South/West Course enjoys the snow-capped Mount Jacinto as a backdrop. Thousands of palm trees cover the rolling terrain and there are six lakes that come into play throughout all three courses. There are also strategically placed bunkers along the greens. The West nine's third hole is possibly the golf course's toughest. It's lengthy at 645 yards and it presents a challenging third-shot approach to an elevated, double-tiered green. The layout offers a few challenging holes but it is still quite player-friendly. In addition to the scenery and playability, another attractive quality is that a round can be played in less than four hours.

Give this course a try
I was looking for a course to play before my last day out in CA. I saw this course and read the reviews. Course was excellent. Greens and Fairways were in great shape. Some tee boxes need a little more work. The rough was actually very playable. Not deep as one reviewer stated. great. The only problem on the course was on the WEST course #2 (I believe) It is a par 3. There was a horrible patch of standing water off to the left of the green. You get a ball in there, it's gone. The "patch" of water/mud stretched for about 30 yards on that left side.
Everything was a nice enjoyable experience. Staff was attentive and enjoyable.
I feel you'll have a fun time playing the course. I know that I'll be back again to play it.
Wide Fairways
It was a Good Value. Wash area of West #2 very wet, confused on how to get to Hole 3 Tee without getting stuck in the Mud. Better directions needed
A top course in the area!
This is a beautiful course with a fantastic layout. Yes, there are an above-normal amount of bunkers placed throughout. But, they have real sand (think fluffy) in them, so they play much "easier" that what most of you are used to. (so lame when they are hard pack, dirt, or muddy!)
My only complaint was that the greens were really challenging due to spike tears! Yep, someone was allowed to wear metal spikes and they were twisting as they walked around. Really a shame for all of us following after them.
No complaints! Great experience.
Played twice in one week. Off-season, but finished 18 holes in 3 hours the first day and 2.5 hours a few days later. Friendly, helpful staff. great value for money. Course was in excellent condition. Nice carts with gps.
We played the north course for our front nine, and west course for back nine. The course layout was not ideal - cart paths, water drains, large standing sprinklers all cross throughout the fairways. There is little to no shade as the palm trees are too skinny and there isn’t larger trees or shrubs along the sides, so we were extremely hot while playing. We played a round at 7:20am and the first 6-8 holes were soaking wet because they had over watered. One of our carts got stuck in the mud because it was so wet. There was no drink cart for our whole round of 18, and no ice or water supplied in our carts. A few holes on the back nine are links style and we almost got hit by a golf ball, and you have to park off to the side to prevent getting hit from oncoming tee off box. Additionally there are houses closely lining a few holes so if you are one that needs a lot of extra room on the sides, be careful! I would look around before playing another round here. The staff were friendly though, and the greens played fairly well.
The course is a hidden gem.
I was unable to play the course due to a medical issue I had on the booked day. A day before the booked tee time I visited the course and it was in excellent shape and well keep. I was unable to to cancel the scheduled tee time in advance. The course personal called me to ask why I did not show for the scheduled tee time. I explained about my medical issue. The course personal was very courteous.to do such. I will play the course upon my return to Palms Springs.
Great round
Overall course was in good shape. A bit dry in spots but ok. Course was not busy, so no waiting at all. Had a great round, we will be coming back.
RLP is an awesome golf club
The staff is friendly and attentive. The course conditions are great for summer in the valley. We played the north and south track this round. I had never played the north holes in the wash, so that was a pretty cool experience.
Great value at RLP!
First off in the morning and finished in under 3 hours! Great value. The fairways were great. The greens were slow, but that was to be expected this time of year, very playable and consistent. Will definitely be coming back in the future.
