Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa offers 27 holes of championship golf. Divided into three nines: North, South, and West, the courses are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The South/West Course enjoys the snow-capped Mount Jacinto as a backdrop. Thousands of palm trees cover the rolling terrain and there are six lakes that come into play throughout all three courses. There are also strategically placed bunkers along the greens. The West nine's third hole is possibly the golf course's toughest. It's lengthy at 645 yards and it presents a challenging third-shot approach to an elevated, double-tiered green. The layout offers a few challenging holes but it is still quite player-friendly. In addition to the scenery and playability, another attractive quality is that a round can be played in less than four hours.

The Sand Traps are Awful

I am done with this course. I have played here for several years while on vacation but not since 2019. The layout of the course is marginal with murmurous holes going along or through the wash, but the biggest issue are the sand traps, and it has always been an issue. They are hard as a rock, If you can't take care of the traps then fill them in and plant grass. I will not be back.

The course with the IN-N-OUT Palm Trees.

This course has always been my go to place to get confidence.

Ever since the first time I played this course it has yielded good scores to me.

By no means is this an easy course. You can find yourself in lots of trouble

throughout this course. Lots of undulation on some holes. Water on many

holes. And all those In-N-Out palm trees on the North Course. Not many

of those trees on the rest of the course but many mature trees throughout.

It has all the Palm Springs/Amex Open/Bob Hope Vibes. Located close to all

restaurants & other attractions that you may wanna go to before or after

your round.

Average Club Course

Unlike most Country Club's there were no persons to greet or help at the bag drop, but the Pro Shop staff was friendly and efficient. Practice range uses artificial grass mats.

Greens and fairways were in good condition, and it was generally fun to play. However, the sand traps were more like dirt and some played like mud. Very disappointing.

An OK kind of course for a last-minute round but not necessarily a go-to kind of place.
