Holes 18
Type Resort
Par 71
Length 6391 yards
Slope 121
Rating 69.7

Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa offers 27 holes of championship golf. Divided into three nines: North, South, and West, the courses are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The South/West Course enjoys the snow-capped Mount Jacinto as a backdrop. Thousands of palm trees cover the rolling terrain and there are six lakes that come into play throughout all three courses. There are also strategically placed bunkers along the greens. The West nine's third hole is possibly the golf course's toughest. It's lengthy at 645 yards and it presents a challenging third-shot approach to an elevated, double-tiered green. The layout offers a few challenging holes but it is still quite player-friendly. In addition to the scenery and playability, another attractive quality is that a round can be played in less than four hours.

0verpriced and rude individual

First, I used their map link to find course and it took me to the Omni Resort instead of course. When I finally arrived I found parking area was quite a way from pro shop and carts and it was difficult to get a cart to your cart. The pro shop and starter crew were very good as it was packed with golfers. The first tee on the North course is parallel to the range and good luck trying to find your white ball if you hit a good drive off tee over the crest of the hill and left. Meanwhile you will be ducking range balls and balls off the tee if someone doesn't stay in middle of fairway. I guess $100 round doesn't buy much here as greens had numerous ball marks and bare spots on some. Fairways and rough was good, BUT they need guide posts on North course on blind over hill shots. Finally, we arrived at no. 5 or 6 on West course and 2 people were setting up chairs for a wedding rehearsal. The pro shop had said nothing about this.

The female "wedding planner" rudely ordered us off the tee box. Even though all 3 tees could have been moved to reds up front. According I told her, had no notice so we played reds and ignored her. Unfortunately, several groups behind were bullied into skipping it and created a nice backup.

Worst staff

This place sucks. Course is great but the players are rude as well as the staff. Creeper Marshall kept on staring as us. Telling us that we are playing to slow when there was clearly a slower group ahead of us.

Hill and Dale

Played two of the courses that spend a lot of time in the wash, up and down the hills. Not the greatest of layouts.

Overall in good condition.

Played in 4 hours, so pace was good.

Playable

Liked the layout. Very playable. Opportunities to make some birdies. Played black tees.. still fairly short other than 235 par 3 followed by 645 par 5 . But they were fun.

Unnecessary Frost Delay

temp was 45 @ our 6:52a tee time and the Supt delayed all starts by 2 hrs. I got cheated out of 6 holes due to the delay. Temp was over 50 by 7:30...why did they delay starts for more than another hour past this time???
