Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort - West/North
About
Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa boasts a 27-hole championship course that serves as the centerpiece of the resort. The holes are divided into three nines and played in three different 18-hole combinations. North/West is a challenging but playable golf course. There is a good mix of tough holes and player-friendly elements. The fairways are lined with palm trees but they are wide and offer some room for error. The rolling terrain is dotted with six lakes, which provide water hazards on a few holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout. The final hole on the North nine is ranked as the hardest hole at the resort. Although it is a seemingly easy 390 yards, the challenge comes from teeing off over a ravine to a narrow fairway guarded by trees and thick rough.

Only 15 holes but....
Due to storm damage from earlier this year plus overseeding, they only offered 15 holes. Fortunately, the staff was very kind and offered us to play the front nine twice. Worked out fine but the price was too high for a course that only offered 15 holes.
Took advantage of
Booked this course on GolfNow paid $99. Course only had 9 holes open so played same 9 twice. We were just 2 players if u booked same time to join $48. Asked pro shop for a small deal as they were only 9 there was no give on the price. The address on GolfNow is not correct nor the one on website so finding the course was very difficult. Would highly not recommend this course there are so many that are way better for the same price. Feel like we got hosed big time
Only 9 holes open
We arrived to be told there was only 9 holes open and we could play them twice.
If we had have known this we would have booked elsewhere.
I was very disappointed that GolfNow took my full payment but did not relay this information.
Worse than a muni, terrible shape
Don’t let RLP’s cheap GolfNow deals suck you in. Really awful shape, not a real 18 holes and it’s not a country club. Always packed and slow.
Course
Only one nine open other two nines one over seeding the other repairs to cart path
Overhaul the condition for the south course was good no issues
Staff were great
The brother in law….not what you hoped for.
Very disappointed, advertised as 18 holes and it isn’t. You play 18, but a few of them twice. Greens are in terrible shape, rough needs to be mowed.
Rancho LasPalmas
this course is in very bad good condition and only playing 15 holes, despite this they still charged full fees!
Poor service no starter no poor signage, very poor condition Fairways and greens were awful.
will not play this course agan.
Golf Now should post the fact only playing 15l holes i will think twice before i use golf now again as well.
Awful
This place supposedly has 27 holes but 12 of them are closed. So, you get to play FIFTEEN holes on a course that's in awful condition for $100. We were not informed that we would only be playing 15 holes. We only discovered it when we finished the front 9. Also, they were running over 30 minutes behind by 11:30am. The greens are truly a joke. Some cut, some not, some with big patches of sod. I am trying to get a refund.
Great day of golf
Staff are very friendly and helpful with the pass of play very good with no delays. Only issue would be with "golf now" who I booked the round through that 3 of the 18 holes were out of service for storm damage repairs and their web site did not provide any advice. Staff were very apologetic although it was not the courses fault, Still was a great day of golf.
Terrible
Rough shape for this course. Checking in only 15 available to golf , refund on three holes must contact golfnow, staff claimed no ability to help. Take a pass on this course.
bad advertise
We are sorry but they should tell customer that they have only 15 holes to play.
On the second course missing 3 holes the grass was so long that you lose you ball.
Also they cut it but did not pick up the old grass.
I would recommend to advise clients of there poor situation now.
Course only has 15 holes open and west 6 should not really be open yet greens in horrible shape
Maintenance was poor to spotty. Rough was left un-managed and greens were poor on the West 9 holes. The South 9 holes, rough was mixed some maintenance was ok, other areas it was poor. Overall I would not play again until I heard that the course was in better shape from golfers.
Course on the back nine was not playable there was so much water damage that all that remained on four holes was dirt no grass.a discount should have been offered up front will not play there again
Worst conditions ever
Course should have been closed. Would have had better conditions dropping a ball in the middle of the desert & hitting from one tall cactus to another.
Online warning said they were closing 3 holes in the next few days & would only play 15 holes. How I, the days before when I booked we would have all 18. Wrong. 7 holes were effectively desert & the conditions on the rest terrible. Would not recommend even checking out for a year or two to see if they rebuild well.
IT’s aweful don’t play the course
