Canyon Crest Country Club

I made this reservation for 4. On the day prior the couple we were going with notified me that they had COVId and we not going to be able to golf with us. I tried to cancel via the GolfNow app but was too late. When we arrived at the course I notified them in the pro shop that 2 would not be attending because they were sick and unable to make it. They charged my card the full amount (after I left the pro shop, without notice) I called the next day to request a refund and was very rudely denied. On the course (which was cart path only, however no notice of such from pro shop or the starter) we were hounded by 3 separate Marshalls for being off the cart path, of which we obliged. On the turn we were threatened to be kicked off the course because we have ventured away from the cart path on holes 3,4,5,6 (before we were notified) We ensured the man we Intended to follow the rules only to have them follow us the entire rest of the round and even make false accusations of us leaving the cart path again. Never ever playing this course again. terrible service and accusatory attitude is a total put off for exceptionally sub marginal course.

They were 30 minutes behind schedule, out of carts and the round took over 5 hours.

3 hours to finish front 9… pace of play was horrific. Had to call it.

Call ahead and ask if they are running a tournament at the same time as the tee times. Double booked sending carts all over the course. 6+ hour round when they do this. Just block off the morning if you’re going to do this or keep being greedy. Props to the starter for trying to make the bets if his boss screw up

Course is decent, with some good challenges. Greens are fast.

I expected more for a course that was recently a private course, and for the cost ($96). From the course, I would have assumed a $65 green fee. Carts were nice but no screens. Drink came around every 3-4 holes which was But, cart was very poorly stocked, dirty, and drinks not cold. Almost like I had a left over cooler from camping and I drive it around the next day selling what was left. Greens were really fast, fairways were nice.

I’m not that bad of a golfer, about a 15 handicap. These greens are absolutely unplayable on some hole. Miss a 6 foot putt and you’re looking at a 20 footer. Maybe it was just pin placement today but either way will not be back

I had an okay time. There was a big group in front that slowed down the pace all day. No cart girl around, when repeatedly told there was one. I was expecting more in terms of the layout and overall experience given the price point. I would say it needs to come down to about $60-70 for weekend morning golf, as nothing really stuck out to me for it to be higher than the other courses in the area. The greens were really fast, which could be fun for some golfers.

Difficult course with the nicest, fastest greens that I've played in a long time. However, it has not been overseeded in forever! There are about 10 different types of grass out there along with a lot of bare spots. Still it is a great track and a real butt kicker. It will take you at least 9 holes to get even close to figuring out the speed on those greens. Definitely worth your money.

The greens are the most challenging aspect of this course, It is a great course with a lot of variety. I like the course layout and the staff was amazing. The pace of play was super, which is always a plus. No standing around waiting makes golf that much more enjoyable. This is now one of my favorite courses to play along with Canyon Lake.

Canyon Crest recently converted from private to semi-private. If you are looking for an elevated golf course at a reasonable price, this is it. The course is in solid condition from tee to green. The greens are well maintained and slick. Get in the wrong spot and it can be a long day on the greens. Bunkers have plenty of sand and are well maintained. The course is playing long in the winter with little roll. As long as they maintain the conditions, this will be a great place for golfers to check out in the coming months..

Course is good. Pace is average.

My experience however was not great. I booked the hot deal tee time a week in advance but when I arrived was told I was one of five people to book that tee time, so I had to wait until there was an opening. Staff was doing all they could so not their fault, but I didn’t get a straightforward answer to what actually happened. My guess is that golfnow and the course website did not sync and therefore allowed five total bookings for the same tee time. I was there for six hours after driving an hour to get there. If it was closer I’d give it another try, but personally the course was not worth the potential of this happening again.
