Good course, Golfnow bookers beware
Course is good. Pace is average.
My experience however was not great. I booked the hot deal tee time a week in advance but when I arrived was told I was one of five people to book that tee time, so I had to wait until there was an opening. Staff was doing all they could so not their fault, but I didn’t get a straightforward answer to what actually happened. My guess is that golfnow and the course website did not sync and therefore allowed five total bookings for the same tee time. I was there for six hours after driving an hour to get there. If it was closer I’d give it another try, but personally the course was not worth the potential of this happening again.
Fast Greens
First time playing here. It's an old style golf course. Course layout is fun and staff is really nice. Greens are insanely fast, putts and chips will run away from you. I just think the price needs to come down to its surrounding riverside courses in the $60s for morning weekend golf. Expected a little more due to the price but didn't have a bad experience. Pace was fine as we usually play in the 6-7am tee times. Will be back if the prices get adjusted, just don't see it worth $90 when you have jurupa hills, Indian hills not too far away for cheaper.

Nice Challanging layout
First time playing Canyon Crest. I enjoyed it nice layout challenging holes and nice greens. Greens were a little difficult at first, need to be on the correct side hole or your putts will runaway. Will play again!!!!

Narrow course and fast greens
Course is challenging with narrow fairways and greens are very firm and fast. Conditions are questionable with a lot of dead and dirt packed fairways. The layout was fun but for a course out in Riverside at $100 for prime tee time, I expected a little better. Staff is friendly, especially the starter. Pace of play could be better but they do have Marshall’s that regulate the pace when it slows down.

Great course
Great course, but the greens are difficult and hard to read.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of our golf course. We appreciate your feedback regarding the difficulty of the greens and will take it into consideration for future improvements.
So much fun!
The greens are excellent and anything above the hole is challenging. The fairways are a little dormant, but that’s to be expected this time of year. Day in and day out you can be challenged simply by playing different tee boxes.

Value not quite there/Still Fun
Honest review from someone who plays here regularly:
1. Pace of Play - weekdays are a breeze, and you usually won’t have anyone near you for atleast 2-3 holes (behind or in front). Weekends are hit or miss, and if crowded expect a 5+ hour round.
2. Course Conditions - greens are great, and fast. Fairways are what you’d generally expect for winter conditions. Rough needs to be better maintained. Bunkers are generally well kept.
3. Staff - the staff is great, always.
4. Overall Value - this is a challenging course with not too many “wow factor” holes. Definitely fun, and better than your avg muni course. I think fair price is $70, and definitely would not recommend spending more than $90 to play here just yet (maybe in prime conditions).

Way too expensive compared to other courses nearby
I was looking forward to playing Canyon Crest since it's now open to the public but was really unimpressed with the overall experience. I usually play Jurupa hills, hidden valley, rancho del sol and Indian hills for about $38-$50 with a cart. Canyon Crest needs to lower the price significantly, no way it's worth $69 when the other local courses are almost 59% lower in price. It's a bummer as. I was really hoping to make this a regular stop weekly.
We apologize for the disappointment you experienced during your visit to Canyon Crest Golf Course. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our pricing and overall experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Redemption
I played this course for the first time and it got the best of me as I didn't know what to expect. The fairways are narrows, the holes play long with blind shots with hazards on all sides and it proved to be very challenging for our first time. The pro shop was awesome getting us out 20 min earlier then our original tee time. The tee boxes are great. The greens were in good shape but difficult to navigate. Over all it was a frustrating but good day if that makes sense.... I would like to return soon for redemption and play a better round for pride sake! LOL!! We finished in just over 3 hrs which was awesome!! See you soon Canton Crest!
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience at our golf course. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for any frustration you may have experienced during your round. Surprised
Was expecting a course with yellow grass in fairways like it used to be back when I was a member 6/7 years ago. Lots of green with quick, true greens. Was pleasantly surprised. Glad this place is now open to the public.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize if the condition of the fairways did not meet your expectations from 6/7 years ago when you were a member. We appreciate your feedback and are happy to hear that you were pleasantly surprised with our greens.

This course
They layout of this track is respectable. It has some quirky somewhat difficult holes which required forced carries and accurate shots. Butt for $79 the conditions were $49. The greens were good I'm not taking that away from them, but the fairways and rough was muni.
The members are member and the are entitled to their prime tee times. However, once they tee off golf eddicut must prevail. This course chose to go public and should be governed by the same eddicut. How can a group of member females be allowed to take 27 minutes to play the 18th hole with nobody on the green for 5 minutes before they teedoff?
This was a private club gone semi private but they have to realize the public now plays too. Conditions are marginal but I must give credit to the staff who conducted themselves like real pros
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize if you feel that the conditions were not up to par and we appreciate your feedback. We are glad to hear that you found the staff to be professional and we will take your comments into consideration to improve our course.

Semi- Private Gilf course
Overall good experience but felt the the staff could have been more welcoming. The course layout was amazing and the greens were so firm; so it was proper challenge. Pace of play was good. Would go back and give them another chance.

Fun track, great greens
First time playing at Canyon Crest. Pleasantly surprised. Fun layout, with good opportunities to score well. Putting greens were hard, fast and in great shape, I’d play there again just for the greens. Good value for under $100 on a So Cal weekend.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your experience at Canyon Crest Golf Course. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the layout of the course and found the putting greens to be in great shape. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you again soon.
Average course
Average course. I’d say normally $80 course in OC for prime time. If you’ve played Costa Mesa CC then this is the same just in horrible IE. The only problem is these Marshalls think it’s literally speed golf. We finished in 4.5 hours and were CONSTANTLY harassed by staff for playing “slow”. Crazy. Won’t be back, would way rather pay $100 for a premium course. This is a muni at best. No wonder they had to change to public!
We're sorry to hear that your experience at our golf course was not up to your expectations and that you felt rushed by our staff. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into consideration to improve our service. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
Greens in great shape
Fairways weren't perfect but the greens were in really good shape especially given the time of year. Would definitely play here again. Some challenging shots at this course. Not for beginners
