Great gem
Course had a fun layout, the greens were pure and fast and the price for the pace of play was excellent- played just over 4 hours on a Sunday morning. The wind was howling but just adds to the challenge as the course isn’t particularly long. A smidge on the narrow side with greens having more slope than your local course, it could be a difficult course with the greens sped up. The starter was absolutely the best, giving tips and good vibes till we teed off. The drive is a bit from OC but well worth it.

Great fairway
The condition is excellent...green is pretty fast...

Old school
Older country club course in decent condition. Greens were really good and overall a nice little surprise. I enjoyed my round and would play again if the price is right.

Great layout and pace of play
Canyon Crest use to be only 2 miles from my Condo, drove by it every afternoon coming home from work. I could see hole numbers 1,2,3,& 4, hardly saw anyone out there during the summer between the hours of 3:30 - 4 for 5 years ! I’m over joyed to see that the course is now letting the public play, myself, I have already played twice, and plan on playing more rounds there !! My Son and I enjoyed the course very much !! Thank you for finally letting the public get a chance to play this Riverside treasure !!

Best public course/value in the area
4 hour round pace of play was awesome. Marshall and staff patrol the course. Greens and fairways are great shape tee boxes are a work in progress Cart girl came around 4 times. Definitely will be coming back!

Value is not quite there yet..
This review is mostly “value” based on the conditions. Conditions are maybe only slightly above average on the good holes and there’s certainly a few that need work from tee to green. Conditions wise, it’s about on par with nearby courses like Dos Lagos, Rancho Del Sol, Hidden Valley, Los Serranos, etc. I expected more from a course that was once private. Currently, I’d say this a $40-$60 weekday rate course and maybe $70-$80 at most on weekends. Worth a try at the current rate if you’ve never been there but I won’t be back until the rates change or the conditions improve.

Rough rough
Course was beautiful and well maintained, with one exception. If your ball barely goes off the fairway you may have a tough time finding it. Way too long for average player. They are said to be cutting it soon.
