Nestled in the southernmost foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, Callaway Gardens was created in 1952 to preserve the local environment, from the native wetlands to the abundant forests of mature trees. Golf at Callaway Gardens is a unique experience in that you'll be completely submerged in nature and surrounded by wildlife. The resort’s two golf courses, Lake View and Mountain View, are challenging enough for avid golfers but they are scenic and playable enough to appeal to players of all skill levels. The Lake View Course is the original layout. It offers a slightly more player-friendly round with wider fairways and generous greens. There are more water holes on this golf course, nine total, including five holes that are routed along Mountain Creek Lake. The signature par-3 10th hole features an intimidating island green.

It’s a golf course
If it’s more than $50 on golf now - don’t book it. There are better options.
Fall fun at Callaway
I took my grandson to Callaway to play,it was only his fourth time playing.We both enjoyed the course and beautiful day.
Greens
The course is in good condition from tee to fairways. But once you get on greens you might need your driver. Furry would be an understatement. Not sure if they are having issues but the greens are terrible right now.
Lake View Course
Course was in decent condition. Greens were not mowed and very spotty. Fairways were ok but not great. Sand traps were in bad shape. We did see the cart girl once to get drinks/food. Would have been nice to see her twice during the round. Nobody at the snack shop at the clubhouse when we were there, so we had to wait until the back nine when the cart girl finally came by to serve us.
I have played Callaway Gardens at least 6 times or more and this was the worse condition I have seen the course in. Other times the course was very well maintained and very scenic. I know we haven't had much rain but the course was dry and brown. Greens were rough also. Big disappointment. Sorry but didn't want to sugar coat it.

Greens have been terrible for at least 2 years. Could be longer - I just moved here.
