Golfer Reviews
No golf carts
Course was soaking wet and muddy. It’s a crazy hike without a golf cart, (they don’t have any) up and down elevation all round. All the pull carts are broken so get ready for a hike and make sure you don’t have anything to do later that day
Great views on the Golden Gate bridge
Enjoyable course to play close to the center of San Francisco decently maintained for the season with stunning view on the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately the clubhouse was closed and in shabby condition, but the proshop has all you need what you could have forgotten.
played in winter conditions
We played FEB2023, and its been a wet winter. I'll play it this spring/summer and give more feedback. It's a nice little course, but you can tell it doesn't get much love. For the money, and it's 1/2 a mile from where I work, no brainer. My buddy's window got smashed and they swiped his back pack from back seat. DO NOT TAKE ANY VALUABLES TO THE COURSE!
Good Location with GGB & City View
Good Location with GGB & City View! That worth the price.
Amenities are not modernized. The sign and direction can be improved to avoid lost in the path.
Too many tourist and pedestrians in last several holes.
Good view, poorly kept course
Pros:
- Great views
- historic
- hole 17 is amazing
Cons:
- hit fairways and still land in the dirt
- poorly kept greens
- bunch old angry men on monday afternoons
- ran out of carts on MOnday at 12:30
- don't recommend walking cause it gets hilly
overall: if you are out of town, it might be a good place to go but other than that, save your money and go somewhere the greens and fairways are better maintained.
What a shame
This is the DMV/TSA of golf courses. So much wasted potential while it's run by the city. Charging market prices for a course with no range, no restaurant, until recently they only had electric carts that had to be charged after one round. Any tee time after 11:30 you were SOL.
The course is VERY hilly and spread out. Feels like you are playing in Golden Gate park. Which would be cool, but the park feel is pretty strong. Like did somebody just punch some holes and call this a course? Greens were alright, most seemed to have different things growing on them so seldom did you have a really true roll. Showed up at 12:30, no starter on the first tee. Could have just shown up at hit without paying. $50 to rent a cart. Is this TPC Harding?
THE ENTIRE COURSE IS CART PATH ONLY. The reasoning we got was that some people crashed their carts and sued the city. At first, that sounded semi-logical but how come out of the 50 public courses I've played this is the only one that has had this issue? The more I think about it the more BS that reasoning sounds. If public courses all had that liability none of them would have carts..
A few holes have incredible views of the bay and GG bridge. Not sure why the city hasn't sold this to a professional golf course management company to do the place justice. This is a travesty.
Caveat:
I've played Lincoln Park before, during and after Covid-19. I'd say the current setup is the best the course has ever been. The employees are friendly and work hard. It's not their fault they haven't been given the tools to succeed.
Screwed!!!
W I arrived 2 hours early only to find out they have no power carts available which was included in my reservation. I’m a handicapped player!!!! They offered to rent me a push cart for 20 bucks. I’ll never be back there!!!
Lincoln park
This course is definitely not in good shape. I guess if you walk it might b worth $30 but it’s more than that to play. God forbid you want to use a cart. 30$ as a single rider! You are looking at $80 to ride n play this course. That’s ridiculous for this track.
Overpriced
The course was not very well maintained. And to spend $150 I would expect the fairways to have a good amount of green grass. I have played many courses in hawaii and they were not anywhere near as expensive and were leaps and bounds above the condition of this course.
Best place to play during hot weather everywhere. It is always cooler here
Very interesting course with great bay view and city view.
Tee shot placement is critical for certain holes. fairway has some bare spots, but not that bad. I just replaced the ball on the grass whenever ball landed on bare spot on the fairway. The biggest issue are the greens not being continuous. There are gaps between the grass and the balls need to roll through these gaps to reach the holes sometimes when setting up for putts.
Tough times at Lincoln
I’ve never written a review before but this is necessary. Lincoln park has completely gone down hill. If you can lose your ball multiple times by hitting the middle of the fairway.. I’m thinking you should probably do some course maintenance.
The staff doesn’t care at all and love to make your day as sad as the golf course you’re about to play on. They won’t even tell you they punched the greens and continue to charge you full price.
Instead of paying these criminals.. go literally anywhere else. I’d rather sit on a cactus than pay the clowns that work for this circus.
