Sterling Grove Golf & Country Club

The greens are hard as rocks and way too undulated. Shards to the middle of the grain either roll off the back or off the sides the greens are way way way too hard. The rest of the course is very good nice layout and fair. Until the greens get softer and more receptive it’s just way too high a slope.

Beautiful layout, don’t miss the fairways. That tall grass is brutal. Approach shots and puts just keep adding up if you’re not careful. Serious putters only on these undulating greens.

Greens are very severe. Play the proper tees for your handicap. Lot of construction but should be a great facility.

Played here during the preview. It was in very good shape for a course that opened within the last month.

Good mix of holes. Not overly difficult, while not being a push over.

For the price it would be a no brainer to play it if I were to get down there again.

Golfnow keeps asking me to review this course every day since I played it. I already reviewed it that evening. My review has already posted on the site. It's still Excellent. I haven't changed my mind. See my previous review. I will add that my friend who was with me kept asking me if we could book it again before we even finished.

Played this new course today and was glad I did. Every part of the course was pristine. There are still some amenities under construction but the course is ready. Being a new course, greens are firm and fast so be prepared for shots bounding away or putts rolling twice as far as your home course. Allowing the course to come to you rather than trying to over power it will make your round much more enjoyable. Hazards are present but not gimmicky. Play your correct tees and you will have a great day.

Great shape, but the fescue grass and firm tiered greens make for a long day.

New course. This is a fun layout but can be difficult. Lots of sand traps. The fairways were fairly lush. The greens still need some time to mature but were very playable. Every green had lots of undulation and was difficult keep on line. I think this was partially because the greens are so new. Once this course fully matures it will be private so play it while you can. Stay out of the rough. Some places were a foot or two deep with tall grass.

Greens were quite slow but because they are new it is understandable. The green contours were very severe. Very nice layout with beautiful settings looking at the white tank mountains.. New course with lots of construction going on. Would love to play again when all amenities are in place.

In a word, great. Another word, tough. I play to about a 12 until yesterday at Sterling Grove, not even close. The conditions were better than most courses in the valley and it's a week old. The green complexes have as much slope as I've ever played making course knowledge vital for success. I would assume course slope rating will go up, very hard. Only slight criticism is some of the very penal tall grass off fairways that make finding ball impossible and will hurt pace of play. A great, great golf course with great variety of challenge.

The course was in good shape but the greens where way to fast a lot of the time if you missed your put the ball was off the green
