Great Eagle Golf Club

About
Great Eagle Golf Club, rated one of the most affordable golf courses in Arizona, is a championship course in the West Valley. Although it has a traditional design there are several unique and challenging elements that come into play such as undulating mounds that cause uneven lies and well-guarded greens. Water hazards also come into play on four holes. The golf course offers three sets of tee boxes so that there is some flexibility regarding levels of challenge, but overall the course is suitable for any player. The Great Eagle Golf Club, in addition to the course, also offers both a chipping green and a putting green.

Worst Golf Course in Arizona
If they gave awards for the worst golf course, Eagle would win. Golf carts are in really bad shape, the steering wheel vibrated off. The workers are trying to function with garbage conditions and staff is managed in the same condition as the course. If you ride here, you will need a kidney belt to hold your organs in place. I am a very fit person, and still had back pain from the golf cart. The course is unkept, rodent holes, diseased greens, dead fairways and over spraying of chemicals trying to kill fungus. My lungs hurt after a day of golf from the chemical fumes. Minimal cart paths or signs, so getting around the course is confusing. Very little effort or care has been put into keeping this course functional. I wouldn't pay more than $5 at this course. This is my fifth time playing this course and will be my last. I will not be returning.
Rough
The course is getting rough. Greens are in fair shape, very spotty. The Fairways are getting brown.
Otherwise, I enjoy golfing here. The Sports Bar is excellent, good food!!
for the price ,couse was well worth playing. The layout is excelent if couse was in better condition
very poor conditions
We sued to play this course all the time because conditions were great, but no longer the case.
Great Eagle
This was the last time they had this eye time available, astray are going into there summer tee times ,no moretmes after 9 40 am. Course in poor shape as they no longer water. Go else where.
They need to add the big 5gal water coolers on the course like their sister course next door AZ Traditions
Ok course
One of the cheaper ones to play. Greens rolled good. Has fun
Decent value
Love the layout. Course was in good shape. My only complaint was that the restaurant/bar was not open during our round. We had a 6:28 am tee time. It would have been nice to get a drink and a bite to eat at the turn.
Poor conditions and high price
The sand traps were like cement and the grass is overgrown. Greens are in poor condition. Too many grass bunkers. The only redeeming value is that the staff is very nice.
All Good!
My foursome had a good day at Great Eagle. The fairways and tee boxes are in really good condition, but the greens need work. Overall good play and has a couple challenging holes. Biggest issue is the cart paths...super rough and in major disrepair.
Pretty Bad
The place is in bad condition. One would think the conditions would reflect a lower rate but not at this place. At $79 a round heading into the off season, spend your money elsewhere.
They ask you to drive on the fairways only. To protect the "rough". The rough is nothing but
dried up weeds! Lots of dry, brown spots in the fairways too. Greens are mediocre at best.
Golfed here before but never again.
great eagle
the course is beginning to show signs of neglect for the upcoming summer months . A real lack of water. greens are still good.
Keep it in the fairway
The rough was really rough. More like hard dirt. Suprisingly, the last four holes were in much better shape.I would not come back.
Interesting course layout
This beautiful course was the only one we played this year. Good value, friendly staff and great pace of play!
