Course
Having played here several times the course as always is in excellent condition
Great for what it is!
It is just 9 holes in a parkland setting. There are no “golfing” facilities whatsoever so you just roll up and find someone in the school office to report you are there. Best to print the course plan and scorecard off the web before you go.
Course is a halfway house between a long pitch and putt and a regular golf course. It is IDEAL for start-up golfers. I took my two young grandsons there. They loved it so we went back twice First time they had been able to play “proper” par 4 holes. We will play it again the next time they visit
We’ll done Milton Abbey school for making the facility available
Great day out
I have been playing this course for the last fifteen years during the summer holidays..It has been improving year on year and despite this dry summer it continues to improve.
A most enjoyable days golf
Course markers
Course in excellent condition considering the dryness could do with proper yards and par signs not the tacky laminate ones on plywood no expense spared otherwise excellent
Unique large, beautiful pitch & putt.
Difficult to describe Milton as a golf course as its essentially a mishmash of pitch & putt together with a couple of ok short par 4s, I wanted to hit some balls while on holiday having brought a vintage half set along with me.
Having never heard of this place and reading the description I wasn't sure what to expect, the back drop couldn't be more stunning as the 'course' is laid out in the grounds of an Abbey that is a private boarding school. As a couple of hours spent in gorgeous surrounding swinging a club its excellent especially when i had the whole place to myself, but as anything like a traditional golf course it's miles from that. The staff are abundantly friendly which deserves a mention, if you want to play golf but not at all seriously it's great, just don't come expecting a well manicured championship venue with facilities to match.
Service charge
Excellent well maintained course as being a member before it became pay as you play not happy having to pay service charge
Poor greens
Greens were in a poor condition and impossible to putt on
Course closure
Really nice 9 hole course shame it’s only open in school holidays can’t see what the problem is opening all year round
Directions and tee numbers would be great
Directions and tee numbers would be a great help on this little gem of a course . Set in the beautiful surroundings of the abbey this little course is great
Tee markings
As an old member I know exactly which hole is which but there have been several people asking us the order of the holes we should have a free round for doing there job
This could be a lovely 9 hole if ….
This is a gorgeous little 9 hole set in the beautiful Dorset countryside and in the grounds of Milton Abbey . The scenery is stunning !! From a golf point of view they need to up their game . There are no directions to the course , no indicators to where the 1st hole is . No maps anywhere . They have white wooden tee markers with NO numbers on . So basically you struggle to find your way around !! . Suerly they can get somone to at least identify the holes .
