Bennett Valley Golf Course

While the course is quite decent and a fair value, they seem to be booking groups 7 minutes apart and pace of play is horrendous. Have played twice this year and both rounds were 5+ hours. They also charge a $2 course improvement fee for each player. Trivial, but when you’re waiting for the group in front of you to tee off at every hole, little things become annoying.

I know courses are busy right now, but spacing groups a bit farther apart would make this course well worth playing. At its current pace of play, I won’t go back.

I felt the pace of the course was fairly steady. I paid for a cart and they didn't have any available. So, I walked the course. It was not all bad.

All fairways are tree lined, (Big, Big Trees) Beautiful course in Great condition. Keep it straight off the Tee, or you are looking at bogie or worse. Greens roll true, many birdie possibilities if you can keep it straight. Love this course.

Although there was a golf cart shortage when I arrived, it didn't take long for a cart to be readied. One element that caught me off guard was supposedly the county requirement that only 4 people could be in a group. I arrived with my wife who was not playing, but I had to wait until a twosome was scheduled to play with them. First time I ran into that instance. As far as the course I found it very interesting and reminded me of courses back in New England where tree lined fairways are very common. The course was in good shape with some browning, but nothing I'd consider a problem for this time of year. Definitely plan on coming back to play again.

We arrived, checked in, and the guy in the shop walked out and put us in the same cart. I said we are supposed to have separate carts. The guy says one cart or walk, we are low on carts. There were 6 carts ready to go. Also the group in front of us had two serious regulars and two newbies ( one newbies T-shot landed in the opposite fairway.. can’t a few qualifying questions be ask so the type of combo can be avoided. At the turn they separated and the newbies let us play thru. Otherwise it would have been ugly.

Started on hole 10. Course is in great shape and pace of play was good. Greens were challenging. Lots of deer and turkeys roaming around.

Played my home course again today, and am becoming really disappointed in the conditions of the tee boxes and fairways. Even a few greens are looking pretty sad. I’m hopeful the City of Santa Rosa will get it together and improve conditions at their “Crown Jewel”.

Pace of play very slow, value for the money high, friendly staff.

We have golfed at Bennett Valley many times. Bob and his staff have always been very friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you have a great day.
