Perfect
Played this course years ago. Second time playing here. I love it. Tough but fair course. Condition of the course was great especially for a rainy day.
Great course for the money
Nice course to play if in the area. Side grass needed to be mowed. Hard time locating ball if off the fairway a little. Would play course again when in the area.
Lack of water
The condition of the course and friendliness of the staff were good. I played 18 holes and I saw the beverage cart once. There were no working drinking fountains or water jugs on the course. Very disappointing on a 90 degree day.
Tough but Fair
This course is in great shape. It is well kept and a tough challenge even from the White tees. Very long but fair. It was a great test of position, club selection and a good eye for slope in the greens if your out of position on the dance floor! This course was very enjoyable. Your foursome match met it's match! Well worth the drive to play and will do it again soon!
The Blade
Nice greens
Great course conditions and greens!!!
The course is very challenging !!
Overall the course was in good condition. Several fairway are very tight from the tee boxes for the average golfer...
Pace of play was great.
The course was in good shape and the pace of play was fantastic. Played 18 holes as a twosome in just over 3 hours.
great track
one of my favorite courses to play.
its flat but very tight on a lot of holes lined with tall trees. fairways in perfect shape, very green. greens are nice and fast, consistent on every hole. staff is very friendly. marshals are driving around making sure the pace of play is right. would recommend this course to anybody.
great track

Today's pace of play is great. The last time I played it was very slow and the marshalls did not help pushing for the faster pace.
Terrible
They scheduled me right behind a hdcp ladies tourney...no disrespect but there should have been a much greater buffer..worst round ever
Mixed Feelings.......nice course but bad operations.
I have played this course 6 times over the last 6 months. The course itself is 4 stars. The best part of this course is how good the greens are ....really true roll, and maintained very well. The rest of the course isn't bad....I would give it an "above average" rating, which means its not horrible but the rough could benefit from some mowing. Felt like the US Open. The course is fairly narrow and has some doglegs that require accurate drives. Other than that, its a pretty flat course that is walkable if you choose to walk. The carts are fairly new as well. The issue I have is with how the tee times are managed. This place can be brutally slow some times, or what seems like overbooked. The last round we played, we were behind two different 5-somes, who were behind a slow 4-some. I couldnt see any further than that, so I really don't know which group was holding up play. We had to wait 5-10 minutes on every single tee box after hole # 2. Got to the point where we just gave up on 11 and played the front 9 again. There were no marshalls and no staff even helping to speed up play. In fact, I think there were only 2 people working in the proshop and 1 cart return person. Its really a bare bones situation. The previous time we played, there was a tournament and the pro shop let the non-tournament golfers start on the 10th tee in the morning. When I teed up at 11am, I was told to go to the #1 tee, since all the tournament golfers had teed off, but there were the non-tournament people finishing the 18th hold that now needed to play their second 9, so there was this huge log jam on the 1st tee, with 3 or 4 groups all at once with no direction or announcement from the pro shop on who was next on the tee. Overall, this place can be a joy to play or a huge frustration.....so check this place out, but beware of how unorganized it can be. This course rewards good shots and penalizes bad ones, so overall its a fair course. I give the COURSE a 4 Star Rating, but Service / Management / Operations gets only 2 stars......overall, its a 3 star place to play.
Fun Course to Play
This was the first time I've played this course and found it to be in great shape. Most holes were fair but at times challenging and a little course knowledge would have helped. We played during the week on a day their calendar was noted as Open Play. Looks like they have several groups/clubs that play other days so it would be best to check before you book. I will definitely play Elkhorn again.
They was working on the greens.
when every they're working on the greens, please let us know.
Painful
Teed off at 810 on a Sunday Morning, thought we would be done by noon. Well we finished up at 230. Will not go back on a weekend. Too many weekend warriors. Not that it has anything to do with the course, but we were paired with a couple guys who obviously don't get out much and the drinking started at the first tee and by the turn, they were loud, obnoxious and just plain annoying. It was a bummer, the course was in good shape but most greens had been beating up from the weekend warriors who don't know to or how to repair ball marks. I'll have to go back during the week and play again before I could recommend it.
Disappointing
Boring course layout with most holes straight away. Rough was not cut in what looked like an extremely long time which made it difficult and even unfair trying to find your ball. Driving range was mats and irons only. No cart girl on Monday. Tiny putting green by #1 hole. The fairwarys and greens were good. Would not play this course again unless it was $10 with a cart for 18 holes.
Everything you want in a golf course
I was a member but opted out because I just didn't play enough! But it really is a great golf course to play with a great staff and a great shop and restaurant! I really recommend this course to any level player, young and old.
Elkhorn golf review
The layout was very boring. It was in just ok shape. Greens were the best thing about this course.
Good value
The course was in good shape for raining the past week. Great price for a Sunday morning we played in under 4hrs greens are rolling nicely
Play Elkhorn Golf Course ASAP
Play here and you will have fun. The course is not long but has many hole that play long or longer than they look. Awesome greens, the front pins are death. You want middle of greens and sideways putts to be aggressive as they turn towards hole and move quick, or putts from front of green up to middle or back. Word around town is these are the old Olympic Club Greens.
Overall a good design and use of land.
Really like the greens here.
Four of us played the course Sept 23rd. We forgot to inquire about when and if they had punched the Greens. They had punched them not to long before, but we all understood it's all part of maintenance. The Greens were about a 5 on the stimpmeter though and a couple of the greens had stones the size of BB's ALK over it, not the usual sand as it's suppose to be.
The course was in decent shape overall and I've sand traps were decent as well. The grass around the greens was very sparse many places, so you found yourself chipping off of hardpan.
For the price, it was ok. Probably won't go back but it was a fairly decent experience otherwise.
I would rate it a 2 1/2 or 3.
