Golfer Reviews
Course Conditions
Fairways and rough were too full of weeds and clover. Bunkers were in poor condition.
Sunnyvale muni
The course was a lot of fun. It was really windy as we played at 1:22pm The rough grass is still very tall I lost several balls not that far offline. $14 for a tall can was pretty steep. It’s no wonder everyone byob.
Almost worth playing there since it doesn't cost much
Tee boxes, fairways need attention.
Greens are in nice shape for the money.
Location is terrible between major freeways and in a military airport landing zone
Staff is ambivalent at best and rude at times.
Facilities are primitive.
Best avoided.
Sunnyvale muni
Course is in great shape, considering the winter storms. Still some downed trees that need to be removed. Greens were recently aerated and have almost fully recovered. Tea boxes are probably the worst issue on this course. Not being level.
Staff was not friendly
This is the only course where staff insisted we show the email to confirm the reservation.
It is close to the city and has a good course layout. Although the condition was not good because the green was aerated, it is a cost-effective golf course if you manage the green well.
Overpriced dump
I have a lot of expletives to use to describe this course but dont want my review deleted. They overcharge for everything overbook the course, forced me out early before my partner arrived and before my tee time. 9 dollars a beer. And 32 bucks for a cart. The younger guy with a beard is the worst employee i have ever met at any business i have ever been to.
Play Sunnyvale
Sunnyvale Muni is a good place to play.
No driving range. Only putting practice area. Come early to warm up those swings.
Careful of ungroomed sides of freeway hole 10 you do not want to trudge through that area. Heavy mud will stick to your shoes and there is no way to chip outta there. For now during winter conditions. It is important to stay in the fairway.
Don't expect much
Don't expect much when you come to this golf course. More than likely you'll be checking in with someone who is going to ask for your GN email confirmation receipt. It's not enough to give your name, so save yourself some hassle and a rude staff member talking to you like your an idiot, barely able to contain his belief that it's beneath him to have to be patient while you open your email to get a number that no other golf course asks for. This course badly needs training on customer service. I've had a staff member patronize me a half dozen times. If you're a party of 2, they'll charge you $36 ($18 each) for the cart alone, and they make you share even when it's slow. The sand has not been raked in months, so don't expect to be able to use the new technique you've been trying out. Another note, if you forget a club on this course don't expect to get it back. I've lost 2 clubs over the dozen or so times I've played this course, and didn't get either one back. I did have a key returned to me though. Some of the younger golfers may stroll across the fairway as they replay holes and backtrack. They're usually decent and won't slow you down, but you could go from having 3 or 4 holes open in front of you, to suddenly having a brief wait. Great course for beginners.
Horrible pace of play
They over booked the day and pace of play was awful.
No Fairweather Golf Here
I played during the rainy weather and nobody was out there all day. Do not be afraid of the rain. It builds character.
