Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course

Sunnyvale is a very good course. challenging but not too difficult.

The only drawback is slow play

I like Sunnyvale Golf Course. Generally good value for what you get. Course is maintained quite well, but has some works going on at the moment on a couple of the fairways closest to the 101 highway that have landing lights installed for the nearby Moffet Field runway. Some of the ground besides the fairways in these few holes are currently not in great shape (though this is temporary, so willing to overlook that). Would be nice to get back some water into the water hazards that have been dry for the past couple of years.

Course is moderate difficulty. A good few of the holes are straight up and down, which is a not a bad thing after a few challenging holes.

Followed the slowest threesome since the dinosaurs. They were slow, inexperienced, and darn near slowed everyone down that started past 8:15. I could not believe the Marshall’s did nothing at all to improve the pace of play. Get a clue people. If you are backing up group upon group, then maybe you should allow others to pass. Made for a long round when it didn’t need to be. Frustrating!

Sunnyvale is an excellent course to play in my opinion.

The course is in good condition and the weather is excellent. The only negative is that the pace is a bit slow.

I liked this course when I first moved here from SoCal, then the ponds and creek had water. Now that the drought is long gone and the watersheds are at maximum capacity you would think they would fill up the water hazards. The water hazards are completely dry with 5 foot weeds growing in them. It almost seems like they want this course to fail so that they can claim poor attendance and sell the land off to make more industrial space. Shame on Sunnyvale golf course and shame on the city council for letting this once nice course fall into this horrible condition. The pictures on the website are misleading and border on fraud, remove any pictures that show water.

I have played this course once or twice a year during visits to the area. The course conditions were the worst ever. The greens were bumpy, slow and inconsistent. Staff was friendly. But they allowed a five-some on the course which took the pace of play to a snail's pace with two groups sometimes waiting on the tee box behind then. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. This could be a nicer course with better greens maintenance and more attention to pace of play.

The pace of play was slow but the staff are very warm and welcoming.

The whole course is pretty wide open, so it's easy to find your ball when you hit it o.b.

Pace of play is slow, but then again, it's pretty much the same at any other course in the bay area.

The only negatives are the wind and planes flying above your head. Oh, and no beer cart girl. =^(

First time playing this course. Greens were in good condition. I liked the layout but most of the water hazards were empty and the sand traps were lacking sand.

At $28 for a twilight rate (walking), Sunnyvale can't be beat. That said, the course has its flaws, most notably the bunkers. There were rocks in the bunkers and the sand was really pretty hard. I don't know if there is a greenskeeper - they were pretty pelted with unrepaired divots. All in all, still a positive experience.

People in the pro shop were friendly. I'll be back again.

Interesting location. For a municipal course it was a great value

Went out Wednesday at noon. Thought we would start off with a cold beer and after waiting 20 min we just decided to tee off and wait. Course is in desperate need of some TLC. The greens are dry and barren in some spots, the sand traps are like concrete. Overall condition of the course isn’t great. Tried to go back in for lunch at the end of our round and while there were 4 or 5 people at the bar, the bartender had her back turned and was on her phone for the entire 15 min we were sitting at the table waiting to order. We left and went to another spot for lunch. BYOB next time!

As a senior golfer very comfortable not too rush or anything. Very enjoyable golf course.

Sunnyvale is a very nice course that is challenging but not too difficult. The course is in excellent condition for a public course. The clubhouse has great food at happy hour prices.
