Sunnyvale Municipal Golf Course

Played here first time since before covid. I love the layout. Greens were fantastic. The ball rolled true and speed was medium fast. Unfortunately, the fairways were dry and had many bare spots. Pace of play was fairly slow - nearly 5 hours to complete the round.

The greens were super fast but manageable The bunkers didn’t have much sand and hard as a rock It is better to chip from the sand

It was the first time I played this course in the rain. The fairways were not affected but some parts of the rough where extremely hard to navigate as the soil would stick to anything it came in contact with including shoes, ball, club, and pushcart. Gopher holes and dirt around it were impossible to get out of. I will think twice before playing there in the rain again. It is fine during sunny conditions.

Made a late reservation for Sunnyvale. I was able to use one of my credits so that was a bonus. The round took a bit over 4 1/2 hours, so not too bad. The twosome in front of our foursome was a bit slow. They weren't paying attention at times and weren't on the tee box when the preceding group had finished. I had to prompt them to tee off! But a nice Sunday afternoon.

Overall great course not much to say. Green we’re wet but we played at 8am so that’s expected. Pace of play was great!
