Nestled in the foothills of the Conejo Valley, Los Robles Greens Golf Course is less than 40 miles from L.A. but feels much further thanks to the beautiful mountain surroundings. It sits at 900 feet above sea level and tumbles across a variety of elevation changes. The towering, mature oaks that line the fairways characterize the course. The diverse layout offers both wide and narrow fairways, water hazards, and thick cuts of rough. The undulating greens are also lightning fast. The course is a fair challenge but still gentle enough to appeal to a range of skill levels. Although it is a public golf course, the beautiful setting and excellent course conditions gives Los Robles Greens the feel of a private club, which makes it a great value for the price.

Greens are rolling

Played at 8am cold day, pin positions were placed on ridiculous places. Almost impossible to keep the ball from moving once on the green. Tee boxes a but fluffy but course is looking good and a great challenge from the tips. Fun course had a blast!

Fun course, good condition the pace of play can slow a little, they still allow walkers?? My grandma used to yell to walkers when she drove past them, “you wanna walk so much, get a treadmill!!!!”.

Fun but slow & overpriced

Overbooked on the weekend unless you pay their steep morning fees. I say steep based on other courses in Ventura. Better to play on the weekday when you have a day off. We started at 1pm on a Saturday & by the turn were 4 holes behind...always had to wait...and wait... Used to be my home course...like the visual layout additions of the bunkers. Course was always known for its excellent greens. Freeway noise & pace make it only an occasional play now.

Satuday afternoon of golf

Located right next to the 101 Freeway in Thousand Oaks, Los Robles Greens has a beautiful course nestled between Oak and Pine trees with Five different tee boxes at each hole that provides fun and challenges for all level of play.

The first hole is a very forgiving Par 5 at 430 yards from the white tees. A wide fairway with the green protected by two bunkers on either side. The bunkers (similar throughout the course) have been made extra difficult with the planting of small bushes that will eat your ball and force you to take an additional penalty. This will keep most hackers from trying to reach the green in two! The greens all have some slight undulation with most balls wanting to head south to the freeway.

Hole two is a short Par 3 with a giant palm, small bushes and wood chips to the left, bunker behind the green and a bunker to the right of the green. For the right handed slicer, there is OB and the freeway lurking to the right of that bunker!!

Hole 3 is a rather short Par 4 with a narrow fairway at the tee box that opens up after approx. 150 yards. If you stray from the fairway on this hole you will have trees to deal with on your left and small mounds and more trees on your right..Another bunker protects the right side of the green where your ball can mysteriously disappear and force another unwanted penalty.

The elevated tee box on the short Par 4 #4 will make you think about laying up with a 3 wood.Trees line the left side of the sloping fairway and a nasty fairway bunker awaits you on the right. There are two bunkers in front of the elevated green that you absolutely need to avoid. Especially the one right in front of the green, ever watched a British open?? The green itself can be very testing depending on pin placement. If it is placed on the lower left side and you leave your ball on the high right, bring your wedge along with putter for your next shot.

Hole 5 is similar to 4 but going back the opposite direction. Fairway bunkers on the left and a big Oak approx 100 yards in front of the green make some big hitters op for the 3 wood.An uphill green with left and right bunkers protecting. Keep your approach below the pin, you don't want this downhill putt!

The down hill Par 3 Sixth hole has a big green with left and right bunkers lurking. Oak trees surround the hole and depending on pin placement can be a blind tee shot. Depending on wind conditions, you might use a 7 iron or a 5 wood. Good luck!

Hole 7 has two separate tee boxes for White/Red or Black/Blue. The only water hazard on the course to hit over, it has trees lining both sides of the fairway with a small forest on the right. Bunkers on both sides of the green, with an uphill putt from front to back. It can be a deceivingly difficult hole that earns it the number 2 handicap on the course.

Hole 8 is a relatively short Par 3 that leaves most players between clubs and forces you to finesse a shot onto the green. A deep bunker on the right/center of the green is too be avoided at all costs.

Ending the front nine is a short Par 4 that can be reached in one by the long straight hitters, but if your ball doesn't stop on the green, you're in some deep bunkers. There are also hazards protecting the front of the green. The area on the left use to be a small water hazard that now contains dirt, bushes, and patches of sand. If you lose your ball there, you might find others, but not the one you want!

Starting the back nine is the Number 1 handicap hole on the course. It is approx. the same distance as Hole 1 but is a Par 4 instead of a 5. It is a dog leg right and if you want to have a chance to reach in 2 , you have to hit your drive well and to the left side of the fairway. Bunker on the left side of the green and another uphill putt. Play it as a Par 5 and run to the next hole!

Hole 3 is a straight ahead Par 3, but if you don't hit it straight there is trouble everywhere.Trees, bunkers and greens from 3 other holes are in close proximity. Don't take this hole lightly!

The Par 5 12th hole is one of the easier holes on the course if you hit just an average drive.A dog leg left, once you hit your drive over a small ravine, you have a wide open fairway leading to the green.Bunkers protecting the green on the left and on the front/right side of the green.A very up hill putt awaits if the pin is placed on the back of the green. Leave your putt short and it might roll right back to you.

The Par 4 13th Hole has a very narrow shot out of the tee box the requires a nice draw. There are big trees lining the left side right out of the box and all along the rest of the fairway. There is a big Oak tree about 125 yards in the middle of the fairway. Draw it around, go over, or go to the right(adds 50 yards to the hole)but don't hit into it. Bogey is the best if you do that. This hole has one of the longest a d toughest bunkers on the course starting about 60 yards in front of the right side of the green all the way up to the 1st cut. Your approach shot is all uphill and a good drive will only leave you 70-80 yards to the flag. Be careful on the left front, a bunker full of bushes awaits you there!

Hole 14 is the longest on the course, over 600 yards from the blacks. A dog leg right, Big hitters will cut the corner and land it in the fairway for a 200 yard shot in, but you need to clear a virtual forest to it. There is a deep bunker with bushes that seems to be a magnet for the average cut drive, so the safe bet is a cut shot down the middle. If you try to cut the corner and go to far right, the fairway of 15 comes into play and is no longer OB. You can actually have a decent shot from there, but its definitely a gamble.

15 is the signature hole on the course. A slight dog leg left with an uphill approach shot over a small oak. Hit your approach to the left side of the long green because as I said before, everything rolls towards the freeway.

The Par 3 16th is very similar to 6, downhill with big oaks on the right and a bunker on the left. Go too far right, OB. Go too far left, and you have to pitch it back up to the green. Easy hole if you hit the green, bogey or worse if you don't.

17 is a very difficult Par 4. Long and narrow with oak trees on both sides of the fairway and 2 or 3 that can be considered in the fairway! Spray it right and a bogey would be a great score. Also. it is probably the toughest green on the course. Its a long uphill from front to back with a slight ridge on the right side. Most balls fall off to the left and sometimes off the green on approach shots.

The final hole, number 18 is a short dog leg left that is made even more difficult if you don't hit the fairway. Go left and there are multiple issues to deal with. Small brick walls protecting players on 10 from errant tee shots, Big maple trees blocking the green with a small water hazard fed from a stream that really should never come in to play.Hit it left and you need to take your medicine and put it back in the fairway, if you can!

Hit it too far right and your either OB or will have such a terrible lie that getting to the green will be nearly impossible. There are fairway bunkers waiting for you if you hit your drive to far also. The approach is uphill to another uphill front to back green that(EVERYONE)rolls left to the freeway!!.

Weekends can be very slow, with players constantly looking for their lost balls in the bunker bushes. And they do have multiple tourneys during the week. The local high school also uses the course as their home course.

Overall a very fun and challenging course to play!

A beautiful layout

Nestled in the foothills of Thousand Oaks, the course proves to be a diamond in the rough. The greens were in pristine condition, quick roll, and deceiving to read. The fairways were in great shape, but if I have to add a fault to the course, it's the tee boxes. They could certainly use some TLC. Let's talk about the bunkers. The best sand I had the pleasure of hitting out of as the club glided thru the granuals like a knife slicing thru butter. Overall, the course is well maintained and I will see revenge.

Slow pace of play

Other than the first two holes, we waited on every hole.

The Marshall told us to make sure to keep up with the group in front of us while we were playing on the second hole.

Nice course although the amount of wood chips is ridiculous. I guess if I stayed in the fairway I wouldn’t have noticed.

Windy

Yet another round without a Hole-in-One! That makes it the same as every other round I've ever played. But, besides the wind (20-40mph) it was fun.

Poor booking

Very very disappointed with Los Robles we booked our T time and upon arrival the staff informed us we had to wait an hour after our t time to play! While discussing with our foursome of what we should do other golfers were coming in complaining of having to wait 15 minutes on greens because a bunch of college kids were taking there sweet time playing. This place needs Marshalls to keep the pace of play going or kick these people from fooling around off the course. Needless to say we went else where but the bad part was our round was pre paid through Golfnow and was told they would not refund us that is between us and Golfnow. So hopefully Golfnow will refund each one of us in our group.

Need Major maintenance

Everything needs a good mowing. Greens were slow and shaggy, rough were terribly high. Most tee boxes were bare and horrible condition. Whole course needs some work done to it before is anything resembling an average golf experience. Pace was ok. Staff average no complaints. Course was much better last time I played here, from staff friendliness to course condition. Probably will not play here until major improvements are done to the golf course.

Great round!

Very pleasurable day. Staff was good and the course was in good shape other than the tee boxes that are in repair mode. Greens are in great shape and the pace was good despite playing behind a tournament.

Excellent Course But Greens were not so excellent as usual

I like this course in terms of layout, play pace and club house amenities. You can examine your skills on almost all clubs. It's pretty tough to maintain greens well during the hot summer but greens are not so good today as usual. Except summer time the greens are as good as those at PGA Tour courses. Strongly recommendable!
