Great Marshviews
I like this golf course, I’m just disappointed in the conditions. The fairways are bare & the greens are full of tiny weeds & bare spots. I played here 3 weeks ago & it was similar, but it seems to be getting worse, we’ll give it a month or two before we come back again & see if it’s improved any, it’s one of our favorites, so I hope it turns around. I’ll be checking the reviews on this course so please find the time to write a review after playing.
Beautiful scenery
The course needs a little work on the grass in the fairways and some greens. Overall in good shape. One of my favorites to play. Cost is a little on the high side. If you haven’t played it, I highly recommend.
$20 course
Paid for range balls only to find out there were none. I was reimbursed. First cart we were given did not run. Luckily we had not made it out of the parking lot. Fairways were weed infested and bare of grass. Greens were the only redeeming quality. Such a shame because the land is beautiful. PRIME REAL ESTATE. Could be a TOP NOTCH course.

Tuesday MGA
Challenging layout, scenic surroundings, wild life (Eagles, Osprey, deer, alligators). The course is greening up nicely from winter to spring. Many course improvements will be obvious for those who haven't played it in a while.
Great golf course
Great golf course in the middle of beautiful marsh land. Pace of play was good. Greens were fast. Fairways were cut low and fast. Par 3 was over rough and marsh and challenging. Overall I will be back when we visit again.
I always look forward to playing that golf course!
Fun and challenging course
Our foursome were fortunate enough to play the course at a non busy time. We never had to wait nor worry about groups pushing us from behind. Lots of variety and challenges. We certainly could have used a course map though as we constantly had to guess where to aim our tee shots etc. There was nothing on the scorecards nor any maps near any tee areas giving us some directions. The teeing areas are in desperate need of watering as most were almost completely devoid of grass. Greens were terrific though....fast and challenging ! For the price on Wednesday we felt Sapelo Hammock was a very good deal.
Southern Hospitality AND a Nice Course
Some of the course in my area here in Florida can learn a thing or two from the great folks @ SH. The course is definitely off the beaten trail on your way up from the south but sooooo glad I made the effort. Great greeting with some enchanting small talk and helpful info on the course. Not a lot of players at this time of day, around noon, so had the course for myself. Great shape and a lot of things to like about it. Tee boxes, CHECK, fairways well maintained, CHECK, solid greens (although some a little tricky, which is great), CHECK. Nice day and very favorable experience. Will keep in my golf book as one of the courses to return to if in the area. Highly recommended
Coastal Golf
Played here many times. Greens in very good shape, but fairways and tees very sub par. Bunkers not well maintained. Very nice place to visit and course is good layout with some interesting holes. Hope course condition gets better.....

Great Experience.
Off the beaten path course and did not know what to expect. Pleasantly surprised. Greens were in great condition, fairways were adequate for early season, and the layout was fair and playable for an intermediate golfer. Played mid morning and pace of play was very good at just over 3 hours. Very nice clubhouse, bar, and rest room facilities,
Would definitely play again.
Marsh challenge
The course difficulty is between somewhat challenging and extremely challenging. The par threes are particularly difficult from the white tees due to long carries over water and marsh. The fairways and greens are in very good shape for this time of year. The greens generally putted fast but true. Keep the pace up on your puts or the grain break will overcome the slope break. If the wind is up, the course becomes very challenging for ball striking and putting.
Beautiful course and great value
This was our first time at this course. It was in very good condition for winter, the greens were fast and fair, and the layout was interesting. Very good course for women and seniors who aren’t long hitters. Our only complaint is that the course let a six-some play ahead of us. The six guys tried to playbready golf, but they couldn’t get past the fact that there were 6 of them and 2 of us, which made for a slow round and a lot of waiting. The ranger came out to chat with them once (so the course was well aware that they were playing as 6), and neither the ranger nor this group let our twosome play through. Other than that, we had a great round.
Pleasant day
Sapelo Hammock is a long but easy drive on 17 from St Simons Island. The course is easy-going with some beautiful vistas across the marshes. The greens were well kept. The fairways were dry and we got many long friendly rolls. There are some long drives from tee to tee, but it’s pretty country. I always enjoy playing there.
Hidden Gem
While in the area for work I was able to carve out time to try this course. It was recommended by a friend who has a home in nearby St. Simon's. I was pleasantly pleased with the condition of the course considering it IS the first week of February. That said, the fairways are greening up nicely and the greens rolled great. Beautiful layout that meanders around the marshlands. I'd imagine this place is pretty "buggy" in warmer weather so come prepared. I used the Hot Deal for the rate- $25 PP.
Great little club
Fun golf course with a good variety of holes. The course was very wet when I played, but it was still very playable. I had played other local courses that same week and they were not as playable as Sapelo. The course is a little off the beaten path but was worth the 45 minute drive to play it. It is not an easy golf course, with several forced carries that are likely to be a bit much for lesser players. The par 3's are difficult but repetitive, with the last three playing to almost identical yardages with very similar shot values. It's also not a walker friendly routing, with several very long treks between green and tee. But despite those shortcomings it's a very fun, very pretty, course with a nice laid back vibe and definitely worth playing.
