About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

Thank goodness for hot deals
Tee boxes need grass and fairway’s could use some grass seed as well. The pace of play needs to be improved you have two course “officials” driving around and yet 2 groups per hole, doesn’t make any sense.

Not bad all things considered
Pre-standard late winter conditions in Georgia. Teebox is a really pretty rough, fairly recently aerated and sanded greens. But all in all it still be working.

Course conditions
Course conditions were so-so. I expected slightly better fairways and tee boxes considering the driving range and greens were in good shape. It is also the first week of spring so I expect it to improve in the coming months.

I will say staff is usually always friendly here. The course needs some attention, overall, especially with the pressure that it gets and the revenue coming in. Many portions of cart path are in very bad shape and need replaced. Obviously, still in winter play conditions - Understandable still having some freezing temperatures at night. But much more attention needs to be paid to greens and when replacing, cutting new holes- done cleanly, and evenly.
Better off playing elsewhere
Towne Lake has “dynamic pricing” stamped all over its website but rarely abides by its own philosophy. $54 for twilight instead of $59 is a joke. $70 on the weekends for a course without grass on half its tee boxes. It does nothing to distinguish itself from other public courses. Save your money and play elsewhere

Maybe the time of year?
Fairways and tee boxes are really just dirt. Could be the time of year, but I wouldn’t return until late spring when things are in better condition. The course layout is good and challenging, but for the price right now I would expect better conditions.

Average day, helpful staff
The tee boxes are dreadful, for the most part. The greens are good, but with no grass in the fairways, you have a hard time finding where your ball has ended up.
On the bright side, the older gent in the cart barn did help us find my daughter's lost vape pen, which was impressive. Everyone else there is real friendly too.

Town Lake : As good as ever
Had a great round this week at Town Lake . Weather was great and course was in good shape for March. Course was fairly full but still got the round in under 4 hours. Course layout is challenging but fair. Enjoyed teeing off on the tenth hole as it helped speed up play. Tee areas at in better shape overall and greens were very quick.
As always staff is great and the facilities are welcoming…Best ‘dog’ at the the turn!

Nice layout, Poor drainage
Most all fairways were soggy/soft and the grass/soil condition indicate that moisture is an ongoing problem.
Rangers were not proactive in making sure each group was maintaining pace of play. They pretty much only reacted to complaints from groups being held up and then would speak to the slow group(s).
Greens were okay.

Course has gone downhill
Very disappointed in the course condition. I can understand because of the weather lately, every place is soggy, but what happened to the grass? Fairways were very bare and some of the tee boxes were just dirt and mud. And why would you put a temporary tee area in the middle of a fairway also with no grass and downhill?on a positive note the greens are in very good condition and putt well. The clubhouse personel were great and on course ranger and Starter were very friendly and helpful.

In rough shape due to so much rain
I have played here many times before but this is the worst shape that I have seen the course in years. We have had a lot of rain this Fall/Winter and it seems all of the topsoil and grass is just gone. Many tee boxes are pretty much just dirt. The fairways are very thin, you almost can't even find a place to place your ball on grass so you are hitting off dirt. It is pretty rough. The greens are in good shape and roll well.
I like this course from the past, but like many other courses they have gone up on price but the conditions are not good for the extra money. I will see what happens after the grass starts growing again in the spring, I would like to play here again.
