About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

TLH Thoughts….
Love the course layout. Pace of play was horrible. They jammed the course with players, clearly a money play. 5:40 round…Greens were very receptive but very slow. Nobody replaces ball marks, must have fixed 75 throughout the round. Some tee boxes were in rough shape. Rangers are nice but basically useless.

Marshall keep pace of play Great but we did not play slow as no one was waiting on us the group in front of us played fast and was a head of us by a hole or two .
We stopped for rr break at 9 and got drinks 2 from the cart girl.
We were told to catch up to many times
If we were slow I could understand
Only complaint other than the one of the best courses and would highly recommend this course

Horrible
Worst managed course in Atlanta. Pace of play is abysmal. No one cares. You call the pro shop, ask for a Marshall, no one shows up. Took us an hour 40 minutes to play five holes. Gave up after nine. Not coming back.

Inconsiderate Members
First off, the course conditions were very good and looked forward to playing this track. On hole number 3 we caught up with the foursome in front of us. Not only were they slow, but they were hitting multiple shots off the tee and fairway. . Like a practice round for the pros, but these guys were pretty bad. On number 4 which is a par 3, we hit our tee shots to the green and when arriving at the green they were still messing around getting in their carts. They just looked at us and laughed. We caught up with them again on number 5 and waited forever for them to tee off. Asked to play through on 6 and were ignored. We gutted it out and played nine which took almost 3 hours. Asked for rain check which the course provided (thanks I guess) and indicated our displeasure with the foursome. They seemed indifferent. Apparently this semi-private club has its head in the clouds. Will not be going back.

Greens need some help
Players need to fix pitch marks in the greens or maintenance needs to assist at the end of the day. For such good looking greens, none of them were smooth.
Also was harassed by a Marshall on the 9th hole for being “3minutes behind” even though we had not seen a group behind us for 4 holes.
Not sure I will spend the money for that experience again.

Great course condition, challenging layout
First time playing here this year, course is in beautiful condition! Always a challenging layout, very few level lies on the course. Lots of elevation changes, critical to land the ball in the proper places in fairway and on greens. Really need to play it more than once or twice to really score well, but lots of fun anyway.

Props to head pro Troy for making this better
I have left a few negative reviews recently due to pace of play, and Troy went out of his way to chat with me this week to discuss the problems my group saw at the course. Troy assured me they fixed the booking issues and between that and the action of the rangers today, he clearly has made a difference. We had the same time as last week and finished 45 minutes quicker! If this becomes the rule rather than the exception, we'll be back again regularly! Thanks for caring and making it better Troy!

Slow play continues
Been playing here for 6 years and the pace of play has gotten worse. Expect a 5 hour round. What makes matters worse is that the Rangers seem powerless to enforce a decent pace of play. We’ve been told that it is the result of double-bookings. What’s that about?

Afternoon Round
My wife and I played after a short rain storm, course was cart path only. Course is in good shape and no standing water. Tee boxes where suspect but course gets a lot of play just had to find a good spot. Greens were great, expect breaks when you get close to the hole. Bathrooms in the clubhouse are getting remodeled, look forward to see what they end up looking like. Course has a great little restaurant too!

Last Saturday Round Ever at TL Pace of Play is Unacceptable
Saying "its always like this on Saturday" does not make it any better for players who have to suffer through a 5 hour plus round. Teeing off before 9am and there is already a wait on hole 2? Really?
Again we are told the problem is multiple bookings for the same tee times? This was the excuse for the last time we suffered through a round here. Management refuses to take ownership of the problem and fix it.
PS. if you allow your members to set the tone by playing ridiculously slow rounds, you are failing all of your players.

Golf Now / Double Booked Times
Course was great, Staff Great.. But GolfNow Double booked our time along with another time and my 4some was bumped back and hour. Staff was cool and accommodating. But sucked to wait an hour after driving and hour in traffic.

Good Course
Good layout and good conditions for the most part. Only real knock is the greens had way too many divot marks on them which sometimes made putting a pain but you can dismiss the blame to the Golfers and not the course staff really. Which speaking of, the staff was very friendly as well.
Yes, there are a LOT of inconsiderate and selfish golfers who do not repair their divots using the lame excuse, "I didn't have a divot repair tool"; THEN LEARN HOW TO FIX IT WITH JUST TWO GOLF TEES ON YOUTUBE! You do have golf tees don't you!!!
Nonetheless, the grounds crew still have a responsibility to repair the divots as well when they manicure the greens; it's called "Par for the course".
