About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

Great course condition, challenging layout
First time playing here this year, course is in beautiful condition! Always a challenging layout, very few level lies on the course. Lots of elevation changes, critical to land the ball in the proper places in fairway and on greens. Really need to play it more than once or twice to really score well, but lots of fun anyway.

Props to head pro Troy for making this better
I have left a few negative reviews recently due to pace of play, and Troy went out of his way to chat with me this week to discuss the problems my group saw at the course. Troy assured me they fixed the booking issues and between that and the action of the rangers today, he clearly has made a difference. We had the same time as last week and finished 45 minutes quicker! If this becomes the rule rather than the exception, we'll be back again regularly! Thanks for caring and making it better Troy!

Slow play continues
Been playing here for 6 years and the pace of play has gotten worse. Expect a 5 hour round. What makes matters worse is that the Rangers seem powerless to enforce a decent pace of play. We’ve been told that it is the result of double-bookings. What’s that about?
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We recently had some system errors that resulted in double bookings, since then we haven taken care of that issue. Afternoon Round
My wife and I played after a short rain storm, course was cart path only. Course is in good shape and no standing water. Tee boxes where suspect but course gets a lot of play just had to find a good spot. Greens were great, expect breaks when you get close to the hole. Bathrooms in the clubhouse are getting remodeled, look forward to see what they end up looking like. Course has a great little restaurant too!

Last Saturday Round Ever at TL Pace of Play is Unacceptable
Saying "its always like this on Saturday" does not make it any better for players who have to suffer through a 5 hour plus round. Teeing off before 9am and there is already a wait on hole 2? Really?
Again we are told the problem is multiple bookings for the same tee times? This was the excuse for the last time we suffered through a round here. Management refuses to take ownership of the problem and fix it.
PS. if you allow your members to set the tone by playing ridiculously slow rounds, you are failing all of your players.

Golf Now / Double Booked Times
Course was great, Staff Great.. But GolfNow Double booked our time along with another time and my 4some was bumped back and hour. Staff was cool and accommodating. But sucked to wait an hour after driving and hour in traffic.

Good Course
Good layout and good conditions for the most part. Only real knock is the greens had way too many divot marks on them which sometimes made putting a pain but you can dismiss the blame to the Golfers and not the course staff really. Which speaking of, the staff was very friendly as well.
Yes, there are a LOT of inconsiderate and selfish golfers who do not repair their divots using the lame excuse, "I didn't have a divot repair tool"; THEN LEARN HOW TO FIX IT WITH JUST TWO GOLF TEES ON YOUTUBE! You do have golf tees don't you!!!
Nonetheless, the grounds crew still have a responsibility to repair the divots as well when they manicure the greens; it's called "Par for the course".

Slow pace of play
They did not have carts available for my 4 some until a minute before our tee time. It took us 3 and a half hours to play 9 holes.

Another slow round at TL
I tried during the week to see if the pace of play was better. The answer was no. It would be helpful if the rangers actually tried to speed things up instead of arguing with players who explain why things are not as good as they should be. Rangers at TL used to make slow groups skip holes to catch up, now they just do nothing.
Saturday 7/17 was a great example of everything these folks continue to do wrong. My group managed to get an earlier tee time before 9 am. We were told at tee off there was already a 10 minute wait. We heard multiple excuses for what happened, but the bottom line is they put groups out that either missed their tee time or didnt have one.. When asked, the starter, the marshall, and others could not identify who was responsible for making this decision. Waiting on every shot and a 5 hour round that started before 9 AM is unacceptable. Our group will be playing elsewhere from now on

Great round
Poured in the morning so had the course all to ourselves. Greens in great condition as well as fairways. Nice facilities out on the course. Very challenging elevation changes. Would love to play again in a sunny day.
