About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

Love This Course
I love this track, and the staff friendly for the most part. I wrote "poor" for pace of play, but due to circumstances beyond their control. An early morning frost delay caused all times up until 10:00 a.m. to go with a shotgun start. With a 10:45 of own, we crawled, waited on just about every shot..a 5 hour round. That said, this was a one-timer, I'll go again in a heartbeat.

Amazingly after all of the rain we experienced the course was not cart path only. It is in great condition for February.

Friendly staffs
We were the only players due to the rain forecast, and there were few snow spots.
But the ground crews were very friendly and nice. We finished the round in 2.5 hrs.
The expected rain came on the way home.

If you play here please repair your divots and ball marks. This course is too nice to be ruined by selfifish golfers

Gimmicky
The course has way too many blind shots and the fairways are extremely unforgiving from the steep hills to narrow widths it’s almost impossible to guarantee where your ball will end up off the tee box. Greens were in great condition. Cart Paths make it feel like you are driving through bagdad(bumpy). Don’t expect to take your second or third shot from a flat lie at this course.

Great layout, terrific course condition!
2nd time playing here, totally enjoyed the course. Challenging, but fair layout. Course in great shape, greens are beautiful for November. Pace of play was set for 4.5 hours, and it was monitored professionally throughout the round. Friendly staff. Overall, a great golf experience!

Good to know
Would have been good to know before we arrived that the whole course was cart path only. Definitely slowed down play and made things more difficult. But had we known we probably would have booked somewhere else so i guess that's why they didn’t mention that before we payed.

Ready for a Challenge
What a neat, challenging layout. Lots of rolling hills and valleys. If you play on a day that is cart path only like we did, prepare to get your workout. Greens are in good shape and rather fast. Bunkers, after a full day of heavy rain, were like concrete and very tough. Lots of blind shots. The course staff, starter and marshall, were southern friendly and made us first timers feel welcomed. Would definitely play again.

An Arthur Hills Hidden Gem
This course is a somewhat hidden gem designed by Arthur Hills. It plays somewhat longer than the scorecard reads. It has a few blind shots and hidden hazards so the use of a GPS system is great advise. The starter suggestion of using the free YAMATRACK app was great advise.
We played on a beautiful fall Sunday in the late morning. The pace of play was a little bit slower than I would have liked, but it gave a chance to look at the beautiful fall colors. The course was in great shape with the bent greens running very true.
The staff were all friendly and extremely helpful. the cart girl was very friendly and a pleasure to see coming. I truly was a pleasant experience, and I would recommend the course to all.

A very good experience, friendly staff, great snack bar, well run. The greens ran true, Fairway and first cut of rough in very good condition.
