Towne Lake Hills Golf Club

I play this course on a regular basis and it is good shape and a good value for the money.

Course was in good condition, fairways good greens good shape but could be a little faster. Club house full of current merchandise, restaurant friendly and food was good

The gold course is in good condition but the greens are starting to stress due to the high heat but still good.

Course is back in form. Fairways in good shape. Greens were nice too. Played during winter when course conditions weren't nearly as nice. Couple of tee boxes need help (trees trimmed to allow grass to get sun). Spring has sprung at Towne Lake Hills.

This course was designed by Arthur Hills. Perhaps it is just a coincidence but HILLS is an appropriate name for the course. Almost every fairways has hilly terrain with very few spots for level lies. The fairways are rather wide (17 and 18 are especially wide). The greens putt true with a lot of break and several tiered greens.

The par 5 holes are quite nice. The 2nd has a a dramatic third shot into a green guarded by water on the left. The green is elevated requiring a well hit shot. Don't go left on this one. The 18th is another dramatic third shot. It is hard to see the green from your second shot but aim left for a direct entry to the green on the third. This green is guarded front and left by water.

Another nice hole is the par 4 13th. The tee shot remind me of 18 at Augusta -- driving through a shoot of trees with a fairway bending right. Watch out though--if you cut it too far right you are in the woods and a creek.

This is a course you need to ride as the distance between greens to tees are quite long. I would guess that if you walked it would be similar to walking 27 holes totals on a normal course.

A few negatives. The tee boxes are not well-maintained and lack grass in many spots. Also, the cart path is lined with ropes and has defined entry and exit points -- a bit of a bother that is unnecessary on a dry day.

A quality course that will certainly challenge your game-- putting and fairway shots.

The course is filling in nicely and the greens are running pretty fast. A good value for the money and plays longer than the total yards. Would recommend for all handicaps.

I play this course quite regularly and the course needs some work on the tee boxes, the greens were thick but slow (cut very high), and we played in 3:45 as a foursome which is very good. A very good layout especially the back nine and a course all handicaps can play and enjoy.

The course needs some hot weather to make the Bermuda pop. Overall it is pretty good shape.

The low conditions rating has everything to do with the inclement weather conditions during the past few months

I had high hopes when I booked my tee time to play this course based on previous reviews, sadly it did not come remotely close to my expectations. First and foremost the course should not have been open for play. I called the pro shop prior to my booked time inquiring on course conditions , they informed me that the course was still open for play. The tee boxes resembled muddy grass patches, out of 18 holes only three boxes lacked standing water. The fairways were in excellent condition, as well as superbly managed greens. My final complaint is regarding the marshal. My golf partner and I were approached early in our match (hole 4) and informed us we were 10 minutes behind pace of play. Mind you the marshal delayed our start by 15 minutes, no one was in front of us on the first tee, and it was cart path only, and we ended our round 20 minutes ahead of pace of play. Unless you are a professional, do not plan on playing a fun round. The marshal will trail you like a rabid bloodhound the entire match. I will definitely never be returning to this course.

The greens were aerated but was there was no mention of it GolfNow !

A wonderful layout, good value for the money, and always in good shape. Right now the Bermuda is just starting to pop and shortly the fairways will be very good. They punched the greens a couple of weeks ago and the greens were a little slow and long. Should be very good shortly.

Played on st Patrick’s day. Greens were in great shape. Was told they were punching them the next week. Pace of play was extremely slow. Foursome of guys out there more for drinking and less for golf. Ranger didn’t care.

First time I’ve ran into that situation at Towne Lake Hills. I’m going to chalk it up to a holiday fluke. Love this course.
