Heritage Oaks Golf Club

These are the worst greens i have ever seen on a golf course. There are several that have large patches with zero grass, just dirt. It's kind of funny watching the ball bounce around on them like a plinko game though. There are several courses in the area for half the price that are far better.

course was very nice the sawgrass was tough.water on one side or the other on almost every hole and that grass everywhere.its a great layout and very pretty course.please take away some of the grass!!!!

We got out there early on a Friday and it was extremely nice and pace of play was perfect (7:40 am).

In 20 years, this was the trickiest course I've ever played. There are a lot of blind shots and far too much pampas grass to deal with. We had a lot of wind, gusting to around 25-30 mph, which made things nearly unplayable, thanks to that pampas grass lining fairways and positioned tightly around a few greens (yes, lining the greens). I typically lose one or two balls in a round, but I went through a dozen by the time i stood on the 15th tee box. It's unfortunate that they do not mow all of the pampas grass down, which would make the course a lot more fun and playable.

The staff needs to learn some basic manners, as well.

Chris in the pro shop was so courteous and friendly. He is a great asset to the club. We definitely will return even though it is an hour drive.

The beauty of this course along with the difficulty you will encounter makes ti a very desireable challange. Be prepared for a slightly higher than usual score. I is worth ever dime.

I Played this course approx seven years ago. Learned it had changed management. One of the nicest, most challenging courses I've played in quite some time. Plan to return again now that I've rediscovered this jewel.

Nice layout. Beware greens are super slow compared to my home course.

It's everywhere. You can make what you think is a good shot and it's swallowed up by all of that grass. It lines the edges of almost every hole and it's placed in the middle of fairway on most of the holes. I won't be back. I'll just throw some golf ball away and save the greens fees.

Great course-only issue was Island Hole closed so only 17 Holes

The course has a perfect layout: slightly undulating fairways with fair hazards - water, sawgrass, trees - all you need for an interesting round of golf. Combined with some spectacular outlooks and friendly folks at the clubhouse, an relaxing afternoon is guaranteed.

Great course and we enjoyed it very much.Only problem was that the greens had been airated and had not been back to quality greens yet.The add said that they had been airated 12 days earlier and would take 6 to 7 days from airating to be back to normal and they were not .Other than that it was a great course and am looking forward to coming back.

This was my first time playing this course. I will be back for sure! Everything is in great shape. The whole course has greened out. Lots of challenging holes. Water on just about every hole. Some of the water hazards come into play, while most skirt the edges of the course. The greens are a little slow for my liking. But you do have large greens to work with. Some holes have great views of the river & marsh. Hole # 5 in particular. The green backs up to the river. Even the driving range was nice with greens to hit towards. And big yardage markers. They did have the tee box closed for maintenance. We were told to hit irons in front of the tee box.

The golf carts were the best I have ever used. I've never reviewed the golf carts before, but these are money well spent. There is plenty of storage, along with a GPS down low. It is a yardage only. But it does tell you the distances to hazards as well as the distance of the hole. The carts automatically slow down @ street crossings. There is a small cooler on the side. The basket area is deep & will hold alot. The ride is much better than some of the cheaper golf carts. If you stray in an area not authorized the cart will play dead. You have to back out, only reverse will work. I tried it on a par 3 just to see what it would do. The bathrooms on the course are well maintaned. Very clean. You have a key to unlock the door on you cart key chain.

Only descrepency I noticed was a mix up on the scorecard. Hole 10 was a par 4, but the card shows par 3. Hole 13 is a par 3, but the card shows a par 4.

YOU NEED TO PLAY THIS COURSE MORE THAN ONCE; IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE ALL THE TROUBLE ON COURSE. TEES, FAIRWAYS & TRAPS IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. GREENS WERE A LITTLE BUMPY BUT CONSISTANT. GREAT VALUE FOR $45.00 OR UNDER.

Scenic course. In good shape. Not a grip and rip course. Shot placement and accuracy are necessary.

This course has potential to be amazing. It requires the ability to manage your game. Shot placement is essential. The greens are rolling with some slope. This course would be easier the second time because you would know how to play it. The staff are friendly and accommodating.

There was alot of ground under repair. The course design was not friendly ~ ie.1st tee- a par 5 -with tall dune grass blocking the view of the green (the #1 handicap hole) The score card was printed on thin paper with no diagrams~ nor were there hole diagrams at the tees.

Challenging course but greens were in poor condition after a few years of neglect and they seemed to be working on them.
We would go back

There have been a number of improvements to this course since the last time I played there. The course is in good condition and has a good look.
