Course was in good condition. Pace of play on the front 9 was excellent. Pace of play on the back 9 was terrible. Waited on every shot. We could not figure out what the issue was. Then we noticed on hole # 15 that there was a group of 6 players playing together. This was the problem for the slow play! A course employee came out and talked to them but they continued to play in a group of 6. This should not be allowed.

Good value, The course was in good condition for the time of year, the greens are large and in excellent shape, with good undulation and challenging putting. Course has interesting layout with some length. Forgiving fairwaysSo there’s not a lot of pressure for I handicappers to keep them all straight.

The green were extremely firm -hard to get a ball to stick-quite a few wear-dry marks in fairways and traffic lanes from carts -But it is October in Illinois

Really liked the layout, preferred the front 9 over the back 9 though. Greens were recently air rated so it was hard to get a true roll today on putts. Other than that course was in really good shape for this time of the year . Staff was very friendly & helpful

They didn't have enough carts so I had to wait about 20 minutes. Also, Pace of play was too slow

The Good:

Green Gardens (all three courses) are in great shape this year. Maintenance is great and the course is well kept. The Staff was pleasant. Greens in good shape and fairways well kept. The course is fairly open with some challenging holes. The Gold and Blue courses have good length and enjoyable to play.

The Bad:

The pace of play. The two rounds I have played here this year have been the slowest all year of anywhere I’ve golfed. Major backups at every hole. 4-1/2 hour rounds both times. Hard to feel good about your day out when you are constantly waiting each hole. My suggestion is play a less busy day or time. Would make a big difference.

The Ugly:

They don’t have enough carts to support their tee times. Had to stand in a line for 30 mins waiting for carts to come in from previous groups. There were about 20 other people waiting with me. Arrived early to use the practice greens and instead had to wait for a cart. Once again, choose a less busy time And you won’t have to deal with this.
