It’s called playing through.
Greens were great. But I was stuck behind a foursome of hackers for the last 11 holes. I was a single player. I’m not great but I shot 84. All of them were over 100 guaranteed. Learn the rules an edict if your going to play.
Poor management/maintenance
It’s been several years since playing Creekside GC, and this visit was probably the most disappointing. Expectations are never too high for this course but they have really let it go. Club house bumped us from 8 to 8:10 tee time for a few regulars without letting us know until the first tee box. The major issue was course condition. Bunkers look as if they haven’t been touched in years, range balls are dirty and cracked, fairways have little to no grass on them, tee boxes were almost completely bare on several holes and others covered in weeds. I will say the greens were in decent shape but also, very little grass. Oh to add to the embarrassment, there are zero water coolers on-site, they’re being utilized as trash cans apparently. All on-course bathrooms were pad locked.Cost to play was 45$ which is fairly cheap these days but still not worth the money to play this course. The issues are avoidable with some effort by management but I wouldn’t get your hopes up on any changes here. My recommendation would be spend a little more to play a course that’s somewhat maintained.

Creekside Needs Some Work
Fairways are rock hard and tee boxes were in bad shape.
Will not be coming back until this gets better
Fun tough course
We had a good time scramble play so we were quick but never got held up or saw anybody behind us
Quirky But Has Potential
I played late afternoon and only played 10 holes, so I would like to play 18 to give a fair review, The front 9 seems like an amateur design and based on some research, it appears that’s because the first 9 holes were “designed” by the developer of this subdivision. Years later, a professional golf architect was brought in to make this an 18 hole course, but unfortunately was instructed to leave the original 9 in place. When playing the front 9, it feels like you’re playing holes that were touched by a home builder rather than a golf course designer. The holes feel cramped and contain some odd routings with areas where fairways are interrupted by poorly placed hazards. I assume the back 9 has a better flow.
Putting aside the architectural challenges of the first 9, the experience could be greatly enhanced with some relatively modest investments. For example, the range mats are well beyond their useful life and many have no plastic tees if you want to hit a few drives before playing. The “range” balls are a collection of old balls and vary greatly in condition. The tee areas on the front 9 were in rough shape and the tee markers were so small that they were difficult to locate against the dormant Bermuda. Some of the 150 markers, which are just pieces of wood were broken taking away some badly needed directional guidance off the tee. The bent greens were the bright spot of the front 9, but almost every green had old ball marks and most of the greens were flat and could use some undulation. This will never be a great course, but assuming the back 9 is stronger, some carefully directed improvements could make this a much better course.
Needs some things
Definitely looks like it's still in progress. This place deserves another look when it is finished. Hopefully some more grass. hole markers, decent sand and cart path fixes will make this the gem they say it is.
Great course right by the house
I have played here many times. Tough course, make sure to bring some extra balls with you.
Playing in the rain
It rained on the front 9, we were thinking about leaving but once we got to the back 9 the weather cleared up and we were able to finish the round.
Course is in worse condition
The is in worse condition than earlier this week. The tee boxes have a lot of dirt on them and the sand traps have plastic showing in multiple places. We had 2 groups in front of us with the same tee time. This caused a backup for most of the day.
Great Pace of Play
This was the second time I’ve played this course, the first time it was wet and hard to evaluate. This time the greens were excellent and the pace of play was great. Josh in the clubhouse was very helpful
Yardage markers needed
The course played well today and was in good shape. What’s missing is yardage markers; some holes didn’t even have 150 yard posts. Would be nice if there was a 200, 150 and a 100 yard markers per hole, either on the cart path or on the fairways.
Carts
Golf carts were not clean, very bad and filthy. During Covid especially, should be clean. Other than that everything was good.
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
Did you actually see improvements being started/continued? The course could use it, but when I was there a few weeks ago I didn't see any signs of ongoing/impending work.
