Enjoyed it
Had a great time. A bit slow but for a beautiful friday we didnt even care. Had. A good time
CREEKSIDE GOLF COURSE
Was pouring down rain, yet course refused to close... Thus I had to either play in the rain or lose my tee times that were prepaid..... Suppose not losing the money takes precedence over course care. I played in my poncho and water boots. Standing, and Flowing, water all over the fairways and some greens were too wet to put... Not the best round I've ever played. Make sure of weather before booking as you will be expected to play come sprinkles or torrential downfalls:) Love the course though. Wished I could have rebooked... Yes, I will be back. And yes, I would refer a friend, but I would warn them first to know for certain there is going to be good weather.
Needs Improvement but has real Potential
We had perfect weather and it was good to see a good number of people on the course considering that wasn't the case when I played there a couple years ago. They have many tee boxes that are just sand, that'll hopefully improve as summer comes. It was disappointing to see the shape of the fairways considering how much rain we had, they were rock hard. There were some holes that even if you hit a nice drive in the fairway, the ball would continue to roll right off into the woods. The greens were fast and fun to putt on, but were rock hard and extremely hard to keep balls on the dance floor upon approach. This course could be outstanding. It has a very challenging layout that makes you think about many shots. You can't just take out the driver and bully the course. The bar and grill and driving range are nice as well. My only issue is that when I purchased a bucket of balls for the driving range before my round. They only had a few remaining. When we asked about it, a kid came out and said he needed to get some more. Instead of offering a refund or going to go get some balls, the kid went inside the pro shop and sat down. We had to go inside and ask the ladies behind the counter and they gave us a refund. I don't think management would like the fact that they had a bunch of players out there on a Saturday, and many players wanting to take to the range before the round, but the person in charge of stocking the golf balls didn't have enough sense to take the cart out and get the golf balls.
Tee boxes / sand traps
I live nearby and play creekside frequently. The greens are really great, the fairways are coming in very nice. However the tee boxes I am shocked at. Serveral are in very bad shape and there is one short par 4 that has no grass at all but has been sanded to the point that it's like putting a tee in a sand trap. Some of the traps are fine but some we won't even try to play out of because of the lack of sand you are hitting off hard packed clay. Overall the course is still a good course but a little soding and some sand woyld really be a huge improvement.
Subpar early spring conditions
With the weather warming, and having had sufficient rain recently, I expected better conditions than what I got. Fairways seemed to be barely half grass and rock hard. Tees were iffy. Greens were pretty decent. Slow, but no major bare or bad spots. Disappointing, as the course is usually in pretty solid shape, and a good value for the money. Will not be returning until conditions improve. Staff super friendly and helpful however, they get 5 stars!
Love the course!!!
You can not beat this price (twilight) for 18 holes. I live about 2 miles away and work about 15 mins away, so I play as much as I can. The only problem I have is that sometimes you can't get range balls. Could have been because I had an afternoon tee time, but there were three balls in the machine. I would have liked to get in a little warm up before the round, but this has happened a few times.
Great Course
Love playing this course. Excellent staff friendly and helpful. Sand traps well maintained, nice fairways ,greens excellent. The only negative tee boxes do needs some work. Hope to play again soon.
Lovely track, greens are superb now, little work need in fairways, great island green in finishing hole
Poor management of the course
I played on Friday around 11 am, I was grouped with two other guys. There was no course marshal or starter but they did announce when your tee time was ready. The course, especially the greens were in good shape for this course. The pace of play was terrible, waiting on each tee and each shot into greens. They had a group of 5 playing together with 4 carts which was really slowing everyone down. I saw no course marshal, no cart girl, or anyone associated with the course the entire round. The pace was so bad I actually went to the range after 10 (it is the closest hole to the clubhouse at the turn) and they had run out of balls. It was already 3 hours after our tee time, so before 2:30 pm they had no balls on the range and had no sign indicating this. I was told by others who had put in tokens and didn't get balls. I did not finish the round, after 5 hours we were on hole 16 and I left, needing to get home. The large group had no one in front of them, so the course never even checked on the pace to help things out.
Great place to play
Got paired up with a great guy named KC. Helped me around the course. Had a great day on the links
Fairways/Teeboxes Need Work
Greens were in good shape but the fairways and teeboxes left a lot to be desired.
Great Course
Really enjoy playing this course friendly staff always make you feel welcome. Well maintained hope to play again soon.
Creekside
The greens are in great shape and roll very nice. The only issue for me was the lack of grass on a couple of tees..... i have played this course many times over the last 20 years and love the layout. It fits great for my righty draw.
Challenging
This is not a long course but it does make you think about shot and club selection, especially on the front nine. The course conditions have improved since the last time I played. The manager greeted us on the 1st tee and even met up with us during the round to ask how we were doing and if we were happy with the course. He apologized for the pace of play being slow. The staff in the clubhouse is extremely friendly too.
Château Élan Stay & Play Golf Package
Mr. Brooks, I appreciate the time you took to review our course. I wanted to reach out and apologize to you and your group about the cart attendant situation. You are correct his main reason for being their is to make sure our customers have clean carts and range balls. As far as the course conditions go we agree that a few tee boxes need work and they are being addressed. The fairways have had a rough winter with continued frost delays all the way in to last week. We are confident that when spring hits we will be loaded and ready. I did notice that you would not recommend our course. I hope we can change your mind on that.
