About

Rating 71.1

Jekyll Island Golf Club is Georgia's largest public golf facility, offering three 18-hole courses and a nine-hole course. Two of the 18-hole courses, Pine Lakes and Indian Mound, have similar characteristics since they sit side by side. Both are younger than the Oleander, which is considered the toughest of the three and served as host to the Georgia Open for four years. The Indian Mound Course is the shortest of the three at just under 6,500 yards from the back tees but that is not to say you won't run into a fair amount of challenges. The layout features lengthy par 5s that you wouldn't expect given the yardage, and the par 4s offer scoring opportunities for those who take advantage of the short shots into the green. The Indian Mound Course's main challenges are the undulating greens and abundance of sand.

Play pine lakes instead

This course is in terrible shape. The greens are horrible for the money not even close to worth it. Just play Pine Lakes if you’re in Jekyll Island.

Some of the worst greens I've seen

Greens are REALLY bad.... most had dead spots everywhere. They positioned the holes away from them, but still had to putt over the bad parts some times....

Severely downgraded

Have golfed here at Jekyll island many times over the years and on all the courses available. This year Indian Mounds is in very bad shape. Overall the fairways are ok however the traps are not maintained and the greens are horrendous. Frankly, they should pay us to play there.

Needing lots of work.

Horrible Condition

Greens were full of weeds, not burmuda grass. Many of the greens had large bare spots with no grass or weeds. The cart paths had giant potholes & if near tee or green when trying to avoid one the GPS would stop the cart. The driving range was overpriced at $7.50 for a small bucket of balls & required to hit from a mat & not real grass. I've played better conditions at course costing less than $20 per tee time.

Really?

The putting green is tiny & difficult to find a 5 foot putt that will have 100% grass. The greens on the course were horrible! Multiple bare spots on every green & it looked like more weeds than grass.

The cart paths had more potholes than anyone could avoid. I've played public courses in cow pastures that were in better shape than this course!!!

Conditions atrocious

The greens were horrible, fairways as bad, not worth the price. Even charged a rider fee for spouses. Not playing here again.

Another Birthday Round!

We have golfed Jekyll Island Golf club for over 20 years. All 3 courses. We always go for my birthday in April. The courses are excellent and well kept. The staff are always friendly and courteous. We hope to go again later this year. You will see all kinds of wildlife...deer, alligators, raccoons, etc. We enjoyed our round. The greens were fast but very puttable. The Oleander Course is under construction now with a new design coming. We can't wait to play that one. Also, this time we had dinner in the restaurant on site for the first time. It was splendid. We had never eaten there before but we were happy with the choice.

Not good value

Some tees had no grass. Many fairways had holes probably caused by animals . Traps not in good condition. Some greens were ok but many had bare spots. There was a dead armidillo next to a tee and had been there a while . They charged 75 because they can but certainly not worth it .
