Greens
You would think that the green would be in better shape in the summer. I've never seen the greens in this kinda shape. I will not be visiting this course anytime soon.
Crabgrass Greens
Navigating the course almost requires a GPS. The greens have some sort of crabgrass on them which cost me 3 birdies.
Issue with greens
Have not played course in awhile ( 5 months) but I was very disappointed in the greens. They are losing the greens due to a virus. They should discount their rates until the greens are repaired.
Bad shape
Very poor conditions from greens to tee, cart paths in terrible shape. It was cheap on Last Minute Golf, but would rather pay more for better conditions. Won't play again.
Good Value for $
Paying less than $1/hole to play, (with cart), is an excellent value. The course is in good shape, not great though. The greens roll smooth for the most part, but some of the pin positions are questionable. (Several holes with the pin less than six feet from the edge of the green.)
So So
Greens were terrible. Very Slow players ahead of us . Long day
Golfers Beware - Weedy Greens abounding
Last time I played the Cotton Fields was over 2 years ago. This was one of the premier courses south of ATL. Unfortunately I was disappointed with my last experience on 8/23/14 due to an issue with all the greens having weeds all over. Its the time of year where all the spring preparations or lack thereof shows up. Puts will not roll true because of the abundance of weeds on all the greens. I could have tolerated it if it was just one or two but this condition exists on all 18. Wanted to ask for a refund...we really did. Not currently recommended - add a few dollars and play somewhere else. Beware - IJS.
Nice Day for Golf
The Staff is VERY GOOD!!! They remember folks and don't mind conversing. The only negatives were the condition of greens & green side sandtraps-not so good. But overall a very nice course for the price. My group and I had loads of fun and will be back for sure.
Lulubelle
It was a good little course. Ladies tee boxes weren't much.
Improvements Need to be made!
The course has - Run Down somewhat from the last time I played about 5 years ago. The Tee Box Monument markers are barely readable because of the over grown weeds in from of them - particularly hole # 14. Cannot even see the marker. I went all the way to #15 before I realized where #14 was? Also, the pine straw and debris about the every Tee box needs attention. Looks very unkept. Mud in certain areas as well. When going to hole #15 the direction marker says "Golf Carts" . I thought that meant - when finished this is where the golf carts go- I went across the Dam and realized I was in the wrong place. The sign needs to read #15 Tee instead of "Golf Carts". Otherwise, the course was nice as far as the fairways. Greens were a little ragged with weeds but I still enjoyed my round. Also, the front entrance where Bag Drop is located - Rails need new white paint. That area needs to be pressure washed as well. Thanks
Is this course dying?
I've played this course many times and always enjoyed it. No, it's not a country club but better than a city muni. A bit of a test from blue tees and forgiving from whites. Unfortunately, this time it looks like a course on the verge of being abandoned. Bunkers were lakes (lost a ball in a green side bunker), greens were overrun with weeds. Just in bad shape. Maybe there is a change of ownership or something but I was really disappointed with the condition.
Course conditions
I have played this course several years, generally the greens are pretty good. I found most of the greeens with numerous weeds and didn't appear to have been managed very well. Some of the greens had areas that you could not accurately putt from. The fairways were nice and drained quite well due to all of the recent rain. I love this course set-up but it appears not much work is being done to the greens lately.
Course is in good shape
The course was in good shape. Some of the greens little chewed up and different grass growing in, but very playable. The burgers were great as well. We enjoyed our early round so decide to play 18 more, could not beat the price for replay.
The course has declined since I played it three months prior.
The sand bunkers were in terrible condition and the greens had declined to where crab grass is starting to grow.
Bad Greens
The Greens were littered with weeds popping up. Also around the 15th hole you'll see littered beer cans on the other side of the fence. Poor course maintenance.
Greens
The worst greens I have ever played on in Atlanta area.
Cotttonfields
Has always been one of my favorite courses and had heard they were closing this year as the county had purchased the land a few years ago but the woman in the pro shop said they were about to sign a 7 year lease and if it went through all the facilities would be upgraded including work on the greens and bunkers. Its still a good course considering this was suppose to be there last year.
Customer Service
From the pro-shop. To the started everyone went out their way to ensure that we had a great round of golf
poor conditions
course maintenance poor. Has become a municipal course and less is being done to maintain conditions. The greens are in the worst condition I have seen them.
