Maintenance Please
Played this course many, many time over 15 years and it's never been worse. And I am a Cotton Fields fan but really. Grass needs cutting esp the rough and greens are bad. Forget about the bunkers because they have too. Catt paths are to be avoided. Reminds me of Rivers Edge went it was going under. And the Golf Now special of anything over $25 is just a shame. I hope they bring it up to speed as I've liked this course for so long.
Avoid this course
Course condition is poor compared to previous years. Greens are diseased and spotted with weeds. Green on hole #2 has hornets nesting IN the green ! Bunkers have thin top layer of dirt, then hard clay right underneath. Can you say sculled bunker shots ?Cut grass is lying around on course in many areas. Unless the course makes significant improvesments it off my list for sure.
Not Well Maintained
This course needs a lot of work or they need to charge a lot less money. The course conditions are not good. i.e. rough has not been cut in a long time, fairway lies are not good, bentgrass greens need a lot of work and the bunkers...well just don't get in them!
Good course
Always in good shape and provides a challenging round of golf for the money. Agree with other comments that bunkers and some of the paths could be improved, but other than that, in pretty good shape. No clubhouse or food, etc. No frills. Local for me, this course is in my groups regular rotation. I always wonder if the course is going to stay around, hope it does.Course is fair with several tough holes.
New course Cotton fields
The course was in OK condition. There were a few holes that did not have the hazards mapped on my Skycaddie, or on the scorecard. Left me hitting blind shots. The course offers multiple challenges on most holes.
Great features. A lot of water
Good greens. Course was maintained very well with good fairways.
Hazards could use some sand.
Great for the money
Have been playing this is a start playing golf a real good golf course will recommended to friends..
Great Course.....5 years ago
Evidently this course is about to go under. The bunkers were in very poor shape and I could see that they aren't applying any type of fertilizers because weeds are becoming prevalent all around the greens and fairways. This was once a very great course. There was no water in any water tanks and that's a NO NO in June in Ga.
Love this golf course
Nice staff and beautiful old school layout, loved it and the early bird special. I will return soon!
Relaxing and fun
The course mixes in a number of difficult holes with a few that are kind of easy. Really enjoy playing this course and love the lay out. Greens in good condition and they roll very good. Not fast just roll good
Good Course
I enjoy this course for me it's tough but fair i hope they're able to sign a long term lease with there management company. i have just one complaint we had to wait on every other hole for the sprinkler to cut off and where there wasn't a sprinkler the guy was watering the greens we hit to and didn't move while we were putting.
Ok Course. Used to be much nicer.
I played this one years ago and it was a great course to play. Moderate difficulty with lost of scoring ops. Time has not been kind though it has been about five years since i played it. Fairways could be good if they killed the weeds that are now growing on them. Greens could use some attention. Looked like they had not rolled them in a long time. Lots of ball marks and they don't roll true. They used to have a bar and food downstairs and looks like that is closed now. Bummer.
A Fun Round of Golf
Overall a worthwhile place to play golf. There are some nice views over the water, the greens are a good size and roll well, and there is a good mix of challenging and easy holes. It's a fun course to play. I rarely had the same shot twice and hit every club in my bag. My only qualms were that the cart path needs repair in many places, and the fairway grass is not very good. Its like the rough, only slightly shorter. The good news is it doesn't really matter if you hit the fairway or not.
Played as tough as I remembered
Hadn't played Cottonfields for a very long time, but it played as tough as I remembered. Lots of water holes, and the fairway bunkers were mostly dirt vs. sand. One of the very few courses within 40 minutes drive that have a marshal, as the starter & to patrol the course. Admirable. My playing partner had never played the course, but was ready to play it again.
Interesting great course for a good price
Long holes and water in play a lot of times. Sand traps are massive and need work done. Overall very nice course to play when in the area. Long par 3s and tricky fairways make this a challenging course. Previous experience playing course helps a lot. Lots of hidden dangers for new players.
Good course
I love playing this course. One of the best in the area. Could use a fresh layer of sand in the bunkers. Good value, good course.
Decent Course
Overall a decent course for my first visit. Needs a little work (tee markers, cart paths, water in bunkers). Seems like the grounds crew has been asleep at the wheel.
The course was challenging
We enjoyed playing 18 holes. It was my 1st time playing there and some of the hole were alittle confusing to find. Over all a great day we played at 8:12 AM and wee almost the 1st ones on the course. I will go back.
The course was in good shape ever though it had rained the day before
Although it had rained the course was still in good shape
