Course is being maintained to a playable level.
My issue with CF's is the slow play, and lack of rangers to speed these folks along. Watching 30+ HDCP's hit from the "tips" and their balls don't even make the ladies tee (come on man!). Also, as mentioned in a few reviews, the cart paths are a back muscles worst nightmare. If you don't have a sore back before you play, you will after...my advice get to the fairway as quickly as possible. Lastly, the tee boxes are a mess, nary a flat lie, hard pan, with NO grass...it's been this way for a long time. Only reason I play this course is to meet up with a buddy...Crystal Lakes a much better deal for same money.
Buster
As with a lot of couses cart path is somewhat rough and broken but everything else is great
This course delivers great value for the price.
This is a great course to get in a round at a great value.
great course great price
Not a better course south of Atlanta for the price
This corse is o.k.
The cart path which is not safety for driving with golf cart beside
the SUV.
Thanx.
Double Bogey - Aeration not noted
How difficult is it to note that the greens had just been punched? I know Golfnow.com provides a simple "Indicator Button" for Areation so it was really poor that management didn't provide the info. That being said the course was in very playable shape with tee boxes, fairways and greens in good to great shape. Atleast 50% of the sand traps were either water filled or in terrible shape (we had had heavy rains 4 days earlier) and some of the cart paths "really" need to be repaired. Attention to detail, with regard to the course and online tee time info, leaves plenty of room for improvement.
Shot makers welcome!
This is a beautiful layout in pristine condition! What the course lacks in length i makes up in tricky layouts. A few holes feel like 18 at Augusta driving the ball through what seems like a hallway into a beautiful left to right sweeping fairway. I will be back!
Good for $
Friendly staff and fun layout, not the greatest or nicest maintained but for a fun round it was well worth the price from golf now.com. There are some challenging and well though tout holes.
Happy we played it, but wouldn't want to every weekend.
Overall I was happy
Challenging course
Need ball washers and some cart path maintance. The course itself is really nice especially for the dough! I'll be back!
Great experience
I played the course first because of proximity to home. The prices vary per time of day and are reasonable. Pace of play seems to be supervised regularly. Fun course to play.
Great down home feeling
Although the feeling about booking on Golfnow was not well received by the pro shop the general customer service was good. This was my second booking through Golfnow and out of the two times it has been less than helpful to use. The course was OK. The fairways were average and the greens were just a little better than average. Mr Ford does a wonderful job at making the pace of play move along and he is a wonderful Christian. One great thing is that the leaves are almost all mowed or removed. I played with a newbie so being able to find his ball was helpful.
Good public course.
Great mid winter condition for a public golf course. Enjoyed the outing very much.
Excellent course - needs maintenance
Have played this course for years but found the course lacking in attention. Greens had not been swept and too much water to judge putting. Greens would have been good except for all the water. Cart paths definitely need work. Concrete broken in lots of places.
Challenging Course if You Want it to Be
This course has a lot of water. It's not all hazards, but the water is there. One of the great things about it is that you can choose to lay up or go for it at almost every hole. One of my favorite courses in the area at a great price.
had a nice day
course is a nice place to spend the day maybe next time it want be freezing and soaking wet. it had rained for 4 days straight.
Winter rules applied to the fairways
The greens rolled true but they were not full. Fairways were thin in spots. Overall, it was in fair shape
No one monitored the play time?
we asked the starter a few times, nothing happened.
Great time for the price
I throughly enjoyed my time at the Cotton Field. I bought the red hot deal for two for around $20 each in the afternoon and had a great time. The course was well maintained for the most part and there are few holes that are challenging. It was perfect for my handicap group which is around 15-20 ish. The only downside I had that day was the pace of play by other players and certain players had tendency to cut in front of groups towards the end of play. The course marshall was out promptly when groups ahead of us called it in.
Well Kept Public Course!
I play here quite often..this course is well kept and has a challenging layout with water coming into play on many holes.
It is a great value for the money spent and has a nice practice range too.
Every time I have golfing buddies visit the Atlanta area..We play the cottonfields.
