About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

The course was in great condition as usual, pace of play was terrible to start with, I jumped ahead one hole and thing were fine after that, green were slow, the first time I can remember that being the case., they are usually quick. Really enjoyed my round. Give it a try.

Pace of play slow. No marshal attempting to positively impact player’s experience. Fix this and you could be a 5 star course.

I played once a week. I love to play this course. Carts is fully navigation, so easy to set the club. Wide green make to easy on the green.
Top Shelf
From the first turn into communitythe neighborhood is beautiful and welcoming , people walking , riding in golf carts with a friendly smile and wave. Parking lot at clubhouse clean and spacious. Staff friendly fast and accomadating. Same with the starter at 1st tee. Engaging and good conversation . Updated golf carts with GPS and restrictions to protect course from carts entering certain parts of fairway and greens. No weeds in fairways, greens recently serviced bit still in great shape. I live an hour away but play here every chsnce I get. Always look forward to playing this course. My golf group recently held tournsment here as well and went off without a hitch from start to finish. Keep doing what you are doing Providence !
Dressed Greens
Green speeds were very inconsistent due to the recent dressing of the greens.
Overall solid
Enjoyed playing this course. Course looked great aside from punched greens. We knew that going into it though so it was expected. Good layout, not super tough but not easy either. Only thing that would’ve been better is a cart person selling drinks. Was way too hot to not have one out there. 9/10

Course has always been well taken care of Green are not to fast at all like most courses around the area. I play this golf course often. I only wish that had an area on the driving range that you could hit off the grass we all know everything goes straight and perfect off of the mats.

Course was in great condition. Greens were perfect, fast and ture.
Fairways were ok, been some rain on them. Pace of play was ok.
Sure was hot though, love this course always in good condition, you should give it a try, you want be disappointed.
Great course
All in all this is a great course to play. Only knock is the driving range doesn’t allow clubs that hit over 250 yards
Better than Good
4.5 rating or very good. Course in best shape we’ve seen in a while. Owner/groundskeeper doing a good job. Would recommend & play again. Wish they had Senior or foursome rates.
