About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

Course is moderate difficulty but fun and very well maintained.
Love the course and staff. Best value in east Atlanta.
Enjoyable Time
Not too busy and bunched up that early in the AM. Very enjoyable. Quiet and course in good shape.
This is a fun but challenging course.
One of the best golf courses in the area. Very good return on your money. The greens are very well maintained. The staff is friendly and customer oriented. I will strongly recommend this course to any golfer of any handicap. Do not be fooled by the length of the course - it is challenging with lots of risk and reward shots.
Providence Faster
Course was in good shape, greens should be rolling faster considering how good they look. I guess that will happen when the top dressing comes all the way off. Short course, but OB lurks as well as some narrow tee shots.
Would play agin if in the area, but would not make a special trip.
Fun Course
The course is coming along nicely for this time of year. The greens are in pretty good shape and were just sanded so they were a bit ruff with uneven speed through-out. The fairways are in pretty good shape. I will be playing here again. I would not consider walking this course

Back 9 was a little more difficult than the front. The course was in great shape. The Starter could not have been a nicer guy. I would definitely go back and play
providence course review
Every thing was good except pace of play was not bad but a ranger on course could have taken about 10 minutes off round and made it flow better and I booked on golf now and nothing was said about recent aeriation. Greens were a little sandy
Course is in good shape, except the aerated greens
Greens need a couple more weeks to get over the aeration and sand. They were bumpy and didn't break as they looked. The rest of the course is in great shape! It was nice to see actual sand in the bunkers. Unlike some of the other courses around the area that need bunker work. Fairways are greening up nicely. This is a fun course to play.

Good course for the price. A little understaffed. Could not get anything to drink at the turn.

A very nice mix of holes with the fastest green in the area.
SOME GREAT HOLES
COURSE FELT LIKE IT WAS BUILT ON A MOUNTAIN SIDE - VERY HILLY. GREENS WERE GOOD - FAIRWAYS WERE AVERAGE BUT IT WAS EARLY SPRING. EVERY HOLE PRESENTED A CHALLENGE - BRING YOUR BEST DRIVING ABILITY AND A YARDAGE METER.

The greens have been punched and sanded... rough putting condition but they don't tell you and still charge the same. Also, they will run you off the course at 8:30 even if your on the 18th tee box with 40 minutes of light left.
