About
Conveniently situated between Athens and Lawrenceville, the Providence Club has a scenic location stretching right along the Appalachee River that makes it feel much more like a getaway. The golf course has been considered one of northeast Georgia's best since opening in 1998. The layout takes advantage of the rolling terrain, incorporating elevated tees and uneven lies. The greens often feature slopes and undulations but they are fair and they roll true. They are also known for being excellently maintained. Mature trees frame many of the holes and there are several strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. Water doesn't come into play too often but the elevation changes will provide plenty of challenges. The golf course is player friendly enough to accommodate a wide range of skill levels with a few tricky holes to keep the round interesting.

I liked the par 5's
Course was in great shape, the greens were somewhat fast. They looked like they had been sanded during the week sometime. Overall though the course was great.
Great Course
Great course. Probably my favorite in the Atlanta/Athens area although having a cart person during the week would be a big plus.
Great Course
They had aerated and sanded the greens, a week earlier, but they still played pretty good.
They are going to be absolutely beautiful in another week. Besides that the course was great.
Late tee times
The greens have been punched and sanded but no discount.
I don't recommend getting a tee time after 4 p.m.
We started at 5 and they kicked us off the 18th tee box at 8:40 with 40 minutes of daylight.... very unprofessional
Very nice course
Played at Providence on 7/6/14 with a friend and a course worker. It was my first time playing there so it was good to have some folks that were familiar with the course. The front 9 treated well while the back 9 was a lil more challenging. I shot a 93 which is good for me. I'll definitely be back.
course and green near perfect
The course and greens could not be any better.
Played in less than 3 hrs., no one if front of me since I started at 1 pm.

Greens rolling great!! Fairways Lined!! Close to private country club play with low public rates! Week worth the drive!! Love it!!
Course is moderate difficulty but fun and very well maintained.

Enjoyable Time
Not too busy and bunched up that early in the AM. Very enjoyable. Quiet and course in good shape.
This is a fun but challenging course.
One of the best golf courses in the area. Very good return on your money. The greens are very well maintained. The staff is friendly and customer oriented. I will strongly recommend this course to any golfer of any handicap. Do not be fooled by the length of the course - it is challenging with lots of risk and reward shots.
Providence Faster
Course was in good shape, greens should be rolling faster considering how good they look. I guess that will happen when the top dressing comes all the way off. Short course, but OB lurks as well as some narrow tee shots.
Would play agin if in the area, but would not make a special trip.
Fun Course
The course is coming along nicely for this time of year. The greens are in pretty good shape and were just sanded so they were a bit ruff with uneven speed through-out. The fairways are in pretty good shape. I will be playing here again. I would not consider walking this course

It is one of the nicest course I have ever played but it was a little over priced. It wasn't worth $50 to play there

Back 9 was a little more difficult than the front. The course was in great shape. The Starter could not have been a nicer guy. I would definitely go back and play

The greens have been punched and sanded... rough putting condition but they don't tell you and still charge the same. Also, they will run you off the course at 8:30 even if your on the 18th tee box with 40 minutes of light left.
