Signature 9th—very memorable par 5 Photo submitted by gshawcross on 08/14/2013
Trouble finding the balls
The over all was ok but if you didn’t hit the fairway probably wouldn’t find your ball. The ruff was probably around 2in thick so it would just swallow the ball and you would have to be right on top of it to find it. Staff were nice and friendly. If they had a cart girl going around would have been better.
This course is great
The greens/fairways was amazing, the three golfers in front was very slow hitting 3/4 balls of the tee, they have zero golf etiquette.
Greens were punched, rough was extra long. Looked for a couple balls that were literally 3-4 feet off the fairway because it’s so long.. and pace of play was terrible. Too many people booked close together.
Go to Rome
Take the trip to Rome and bring your sticks. There is a gem hiding up here called Stonebridge. When you play the 9th hole you’ll see this beautiful bridge waiting for your second shot. Go play this gem and you’ll never regret the ride up there.
Great Value
Best course for the money in North Georgia. The conditions were very good but not top notch. It's not Barnsley Gardens but it's less than a third of the price. It's also the most walkable course Iv'e played in Georgia.
Everything was great. The only thing was that the rough was too deep to find your ball if you hit it in there.
Course is always in great shape. Staff is always professional. Pace of play is slow at times, but overall my experience is always 5 stars
Challenging layout
Nice course with some challenging holes, but not requiring anything a mid handicap golfer cant overcome. Disappointed that there was no cart service, or water on the course with a heat index of 102. They obviously allow players to start on 10 even though there are groups coming off of 9.
Worth the drive
The course is a little too far for my usuall needs (1h 10min trip) but with the price spike of other courses close by me, it became a valid alternative for some weekends.
The course is beautiful, has an interesting layout, and is well taken care of.
The ‘bridge’ never disappoints!
Fathers Day round with two of my boys and my bride. Once we moved around a VERY slow foursome we made it around in less than 4 hours. Course was in great shape but greens were a little slow for our liking. This is one of our go-to courses (I played the very first day it opened in 1994!
