Bacon Park- Okay for the price
While we are playing the course was under a major renovation so my opinion is clearly derived from how we saw this course on the day we played. We were given the option of playing the first nine holes twice with cart or walking the back nine due to refurbishments, we chose the latter. There was also a few bachelor parties and blitzes on the course this day so the rate of play was absolutely glacial. Price was $40/person so it was nothing to complain about; I just wish I had a better first experience since I live less than five minutes from Bacon Park.
Greens are in rough shape
Course is easy to play..wide fairways, minimal hazards, not too long, grass length of rough not a problem. However, the greens were in terrible condition. All had large spots of bare ground

Worst course I’ve ever played and not even cheap!
Easily the worst course I’ve ever played. Literally had sand traps and mud holes on at most of the greens and it looked like the pine needles hadn’t been blown off in days. Couldn’t tell where fairway ended and rough begin. The attitude of the old man behind the counter was even worse than the course. I paid more to play here than I pay at much nicer courses. Won’t be back.

Please Fix Greens
The greens are terrible, it’s like putting down a dirt path except worse with craters and bare spots everywhere. I like the course layout and just about everything else but when it comes to loving the sport, nothing ruins it worse than bad greens management. A drinks cart wouldn’t hurt either, seems to be common at other golf courses.

Player be ware...
The greens were very pour, definitely not worth the money paying for in condition of greens, and some fairways not cut like should be.

Average at best
After playing Hunter the day before, and being a Ross course, this place was a let down. I’m sure at one time this was a premier course and would have been a lot of fun. Greens were terrible. Layout was boring and it would have been nice to know as first timers that there was no water available on the course and that you don’t go by the clubhouse at the turn. In this case you really don’t get what you pay for.

You Can Do Better
I wish I knew what was happening here. The greens are atrocious. The bunkers are street trash. The cost to play 18 holes is not in line with the absolute terrible condition of the course. Unless you see a greens fee of $30 or less, play somewhere else. Golf carts are nice and the USB ports actually work. So there’s one plus. Disappointing to see how far downhill this place is going. Last thing, the range balls are about five years overdue for replacement.

BAD CONDITIONS
BACON PARK IS OVER PRICE FOR THE CONDITION THE COURSE IS IN. THE GREENS WERE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. THE YOUNG LADY WAS NICE. THIS IS THE ONLY THING I HAVE GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THIS COURSE. HOPE YOU ALL GET IT ON TRACK, BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO PLAY IT AGAIN.

Not worth the money
Course was in terrible shape, Greens had very little grass and a lot of damage. I realize. It is early but course should not even be open if they can’t offer better conditions!

Could be nice
The greens were fast, but in bad shape. There were a lot of dead spots, but most of the time rolled true. Due to the bad spots some of the pin locations were in unfair places, but that have to put them where they can, so I get it. It's a short course, so great for the short hitters, but bring your short game. For 60 bucks I thought it'd be in better condition. They seemed to have 18 other holes that were closed. I"m sure this was a great place back in the day.

A bit worse than last time
Course greens are pretty bad. For someone who is good at putting these will be unplayable. For me it's was fine and just a fun day out. Cart paths can be a big challenging as they disappear here and there. They are essentially dirt paths. Sometimes the automated GPS will cut the cart off when you are on the cart path and accuse you of being off the path. That happened on 10. Layout is fine, nice big open fairways. I hope conditions improve.

Needed TLC
Donald Ross knows golf. Great old style holes and routing. Fantastic new golf carts. Friendly pro shop and starter. Dead or dying greens, bare fairway and unkept bunker (which is ok by me). It could be a fabulous course (again) with some TLC.

If I could rate it a 1/2 star I would
Absolute worst course we have ever played. Paid $90 for two seniors and I think the conditions were such that the course should not even have been opened. Almost every green was severely damaged, fairways were like cement. Very little maintenance done. Donald Ross would be mortified!!

Course is ok but the greens should be retitled because there is none.
