Covid rules
Nice course and layout. Pretty good condition overall but some wet spots. With Covid rules the cup was raised so no balls could enter the hole which I think is worse than the ones that have something in the bottom of the cup like foam.
1st Round After COVID-19 Restrictions
Course in very good conditions. Greens were slower than their typical. Rains from the previous days left filled water retention areas. Fairways drained well and playable. Most sand bunkers drained well too and playable. Will play this course again!

Fun layout
Fun course but is a tough test also, driver not always needed. Good greens

Great value
This place is always in good shape! Greens are good. People are friendly, but pace can get slow at times.

Nice track and friendly staff
Really my one and only complaints was the pace of play, not that it was exceedingly long but we were stuck behind a foursome that had two players that probably never golfed before and held up the course. The ranger was out but it didn’t seem to enforce play any faster.

Very clean course
Problem is, the timing. You have ppl on your take and can barely enjoy yourself. I’d return if I had time to actually golf. Used to golf here as a kid, you’d think things would update...nope. Grounds ppl keep it clean, ranger was super cool, if I didn’t have ppl waiting on me on every hole and ppl ahead were slow, I’d be a nice place. Seems like they cram ppl on the course with 10 seconds to tee off and if you golf slightly off course you’re done.

A little slow for a Monday morning
Nice course. Played here a few times in the past, as recent as 3 days ago. Played pretty slow this morning. Front nine went OK. Started waiting on hole # 7. Back nine was a lot slower than usual. Looked to be a foursome two groups ahead of us. They seemed to get slower as the round went on and the temp rose. I know Hilldale has had the rap of slow play in the past by a certain type of golfer and that appeared to be the case today. Slower than expected for 9:00 on a Monday morning. Also was surprised that they let non playing young children ride along with their Mothers.
